Hey I´m running successfully a Magma 4PCI Box hosting 1 scope 14dsp and 3 UAD1. When it comes to magma there is no alternative for a pci based laptop solution. forget all the cheap pci expander which are not from magma. they are simply not working stable.

Hi, I want to replace my MAGMA 4 PCI Expansion Box noisy PSU to a fanless PSU. Since the original has 500 Watt and the fanless has 300 Watt I´m just asking myself whether 300 Watts are enough to provide 1 Scope 14dsp and 3 UAD-1s.
What do you think?

Hi, I will stay with 4,5 as long as possible.
Maybe next summer, when I have enough time after my studies are finished, i´will try 5.0 together with win 7.
I already installed 5.0 under XP and I wasn´t that surprised. Gladfully I didn´t have blue screens but with my system strange other things ...

how I solved my freezing problem and the driver download to 3.1b:

change the driver, it´s no problem at all. if it doesn´t work out it´s no problem to go back to 4.0s driver.

or check out scope 5. this definately will solve your problem.

and remember: make system backup before experimenting with your system.

Had the same issue with scope 4.5 and a dualcore machine under win xp sp2 acpi mode. it seems to me to be a driver problem considering the acpi mode is which indispensable when using dualcore or hyperthreaded cpu systems. i solved my problems with exchanging the driver from driver of scope 4.5 to ...
