I did everything, now it's better, but still there is cpu spikes, and computer freezes from time to time.Oh,yes,I got "cannot load midi out module"message(or something similar),but after reinstall of sfp, everything worked ok.
Guys,is there difference between performance on your computers when you have active-inactive sfp platform?Because I think that freezes have something to do with routing in my sfp project, probably I messed up something.
thanks,
best regards

My problem have something with MIDI.
But,when I disable sfp window,and then start cubase,freezes happens...not so often,but it happens.
Suggestions?I am using some projects that I downloaded from planetz..basic cubase project or something.

I installed my computer in "standard pc mode"...but ocassionally,I have crashes, not usual crashes...computer works, but sometimes monitors is shutting off,and restarting is the only solution to fix problem...and in standard mode,my computer is not so fast...
So,I am still not satisfied with this setup, but I have no more money to spend,so I am stuck with it right now...
Regards

SOMETHING is a problem. i wish i could say definitely. but if everything is installed properly from the ground up, it should be very solid. magneto IS a hungry device for some reason and cubase sx is a hungry app. still, your computer should work better.

I installed aspi(however,I don't know what there drivers are),disabled ht(in standard pc mode there is no reason to use it),set pci latency to 96,tweaked windows, have win sp2,installed sfp,no xtc mode...

Mistake,anywhere?

if there is truly no mistake in the software dept., then what about drivers/bios, latest all? yes? then there must be a hardware problem.

is dma truly activated? is there nothing running in the backround that could be causing problems?

cubase sx2 and any GOOD reverb is quickly trouble. windows settings are very important. i assume that your screen has the 98 look and that you have disabled all of the fancy effects....

Yes,all fancy disabled, latest video drivers,I have 3.1 sfp,I have NOT latest bios(I have, but process that I need to make for flashing bios is scary-I don't have floppy device in my computer,so I must find that one first, which is not problem).
I have problem to install midi port on my motherboard, asus told me that drivers are ON cd that came with board, however, windows recognize it as 'OTHER INPUT" and can't find drivers on cd....

Yes,I am using "built in" midi port, but actually,it comes as separate input that I must connect to motherboard.
