This is a very simple little device that I made for myself, as it suits the way that I like to work. I thought that perhaps some of you might also find it useful.
The "wavedrum" is a sample player with a dedicated amp envelope. I designed it to be very DSP-light and yet allow certain desirable features, such as MIDI-mapping across the keyboard and MIDI-channel selectivity. The tiny device allows for the use of multiple instances, with little DSP-usage, with each instance having its own unique MIDI-map with shared MIDI-channels and vice-versa. In this way, it is great for triggering loops and especially multiple drum-hit samples.
It can also, of course, be used as a polyphonic sample player for keyboard-style playing.
XTC-mode is supported and the convenient "load/ clear sample" buttons are included (the "load" button points to the "Samples" sub-folder in the SFP folder-group).
I hope you find it useful. Sorry for the "ultra-stock" GUI appearance... I designed it for function over fashion.
Cheers,
Stephen

I second that. Theres no good reason to put an alligator lifting weights on a plugin GUI.On 2004-02-27 01:55, marcuspocus wrote:
Thanks for this nice free device
I'm sure i'll find usefull thing to do with it.
And, personnaly i love this 'ultra stock look'
It keep things simple for the eye.
Thanks stephen, you rule! Also a multi sample, multi output version of this could be supa cool. Kinda like the SDS but more SFP friendly. Your sound sculpting know-how built in could take drum sampling to another level.

I'm just in the middle of designing my next 'major' devide project, but i will look into updating this thing in the future... certain things will depend on the new SDK, as well (such as proper stereo implementation).

i really REALLY wanted a Korg Wavedrum when they first came out, but they were sooo expensive and then also so short-lived on the market...On 2004-02-28 02:28, spacef wrote:
dooh, for a minute, i thought it was a WaveDrum emulation (you know that one do you?)....
I still want to own one eventually and hope that one will cross my path when I have a little extra money (yeah, right...).
calling my little device a "wavedrum" was terribly uncreative of me (and misleading, when considering the greatness of the 'other' Wavedrum). i honestly didn't think of the old Korg instrument of the same name and just thought to put "wave" (as in -file) and "drum" (as in what i was using it for) together... it wasn't unitl i released it that i remembered my old desire for the instrument of the same name! funny how the subconscious works.
Cheers,
Stephen

it is polyphonic. On 2004-02-28 17:11, samplaire wrote:What about DrumWave?calling my little device a "wavedrum" was terribly uncreative of me (and misleading, when considering the greatness of the 'other' Wavedrum).
The device is great and a poliphonic version would be a great enhancement for me (if possible, please)![]()

Very good device.
The link beetween two shots is really good (i use it with 1 voice of polyphony), no clicks, very good, seems like a very short delay plus a very short release is used to make that possible.
I heard also that the sound is a tiny better than a VSTi sample player, samples directly played by the Creamware card looks to be more accurate.
My wish :
1) multisampler with a keyboard map : each sample could be link with each keyboard key or a group, polyphony should be limited on each key in case of drums and hit-hats), why not a system of cells
In fact i'm looking for a device like NI battery but Creamware device)
2) a 1 pole low pass filter
I will pay for that.

I'm glad you find this device useful. I agree that a 'Battery'-style device would be cool, although I'm not entirely sure I'd be the best one to build it (samplers aren't really my forte), but after I'm completed a couple of my devices-in-progress here, I will certainly fiddle around with the idea.On 2004-03-08 09:34, Faybs wrote:
