hello,
i was recording my drum tracks and i have experienced that cubase vst 5 has added a latency.
my question is how big is the latency amout with cubase vst 5 when i´m recording a drumtrack through pulsar (through transient designer)and then route the signal back to vst.
my system latency is whilst a recording session
at 25ms (ulli).
the inspector allows me to compensate a delay.
how big is the latency when i´m recording as described above.(i guess 50 ms bcause the signal have to flow to pulsar 25ms and then back to vst 25ms again) but i´m not sure if this thoughts are true.
please help me. how big is the latency when i will bounce my tracks with the export function in vst at 25ms?

please help me if you can
thanks

no metter which ulli setting you use, recorded latency in vst should be zero - no latency.
i don't have transient designer but i belive that latency isn't audible.
anyway, maybe is better idea to use td in mix instead od recording.

I'd suggest you record a simple pulse to some tracks representing the various routing / processing configurations ?
Without latency all pulses would have the same position, with latency you can measure on the time line how much deviation each process causes.

cheers, Tom

nearly every process has its latency in vst i guess (for example: if you route a sigal to the master, then the signal is faster than through a bus. the signal has to go twice).
if anyone has a list which contains the millisecs of any latency proneness device (busses, dynamic devices, etc) please post it.
thanks

btw my recorded drumtracks have had over 400 milliseconds delay. i compensated the problem with cubase inspectors delaycompensation.
but why this uge amount?
is it transient designer?

bounce latencies are usually not audible when bouncing as you describe when i am using logic.cubase should be the same.

Transient designer can never make such a giant delay: I think, it is unhearable.
Make a song and put the tracks thru several busses from cubase to pulsar. Some simple rhythms would be enough. Put one channel through a TD, let the other channels dry - you'll see: is the timing as before or not?

I find it difficult at times to shift tracks. Cubase can shift tracks in such a minute amount you can't tell if it got better or worse. I wish they made a way you could visualize the difference in real time.

Earlier plugin Scopion showed something about phase correlation ... but I never used it. Try.
