well, sort of. got your attention though huh? boy bands aside. . .

I have some questions on sync:
I am running Pulsar 2.04, a digital mixer (fostex VM200), and Cubase 5. Thus far, I have had the mixer slaved to Pulsar via ADAT.

Questin 1: Would using the mixer as master offer anything better? It would be more convenient because Pulsar tends to spew out unpleasant sounds out of the ADAT ports when switching projects. Using the mixer as master would fix this. What are the benefits/burdens to either option?

Question 2: If I do use the mixer as master, pulsar is then slave. but Cubase syncs audio to the sample clock of Pulsar. Will this still work? Would Cubase be synced to PUlsar, which in turn is synced to the digi-mixer? Would it be possible or better to synd directly to the mixer?

Question 3: MIDI Clock! When a Pulsar device is synced to MIDI clock from Cubase (an LFO rate, or delay tempo for example), the tempo fluctuates wildly. Between 118-122 in Pulsar, yet Cubase indicates 120 all the way. Is it possible to use Pulsar as the sync source to fix this? How? Any other way to make MIDI Clock sync usable? Right now it is worthless and makes the synths sound like shit! Does Steinberg newish MIDI interface fix this? It supposedly has 'superb' timing. . .

thanx all! I'm now going to play all of my favorite N'Sync and BackStreet Boys records while practicing self-mutilation and trying to get my rig all synced up

hey i just got my vm200 and im having some problems. how do you get the vm200 to slave to pulsar? ive tried various combinations settings. when i select vm200 as adat 441 slave, i get "wrong adat-in clk", if i set pulsar as slave, it wont work, it shows no samplerate and wont make any sound...if you can help me with this maybe i can help you out later, i also run cubase 5...basically tell me how to get the adat signal out of pulsar and into the mixer, i dont need adat back to the pulsar, although it is hooked up, in case thats needed for sync purposes. maybe you could even email me a project that works, i could mail you some samples or something...help! thanks...

well i did some more searching on the forum here and ran across the solution to my problem, seems i have an upside down card configuration, so i simply had to switch adat jacks and there it was...works like a dream now, at least for the audio. i havent even hooked it up to midi yet so i am sure to have lots more questions....
