Well, I'm out of work at the moment so I sized down basically to Scope. My only keyboards are Korg M3 and Yamaha VL7. I didn't like the Nord or the Virus... Oh, and I don't have any piano training lol, so my playing needs fixing.

Funnily enough, Facebook just contacted me on LinkedIn. But there's no way I am moving to the US and A.

I have the SDK 5.1, but the link to writing DSP code in a v4.0! manual links to nothing!!!!

I would love to port some of the open source SID and/or Yamaha OPL emulations for fun :)

dsp coding hints?
analog devices?

actually, i wouldn't think you would need to write a lot of dsp code. scripts to connect dsp and native functions, however...
i think that's where knowledge of C languages really matters...not being a programmer, i might ne a little off. i might be a litlle bit off even if i was a programmer, but that's another story...

Well, I know C quite well. Better than any of the new stuff. C++ is a bit of a pain, but I can manage.

DSP? I've read some books. I never finished one because it was getting a little bit too mathematical, but it has code examples. It teaches you how do design FIR and IIR filters and how to do FFT and all that. Paid like a $1 for the book as they were liquidating unsold obsolete ones. But it doesn't teach about how to code alias free oscillators. What's the secret, Sonic Core? :D

I actually wrote a very simple Java synth using wavetables that I generated in Cool Edit. I had nothing to do when I was doing QA at IBM in 2000 (co-op). I sat there for hours while the tests ran so I was reading books (they had a library), writing code, and reading forums. hahaha, good times.

We got way off topic.

But here are the ones I found so far. I think I have at least one more. The one on the left is very technical and hard to understand, basically full of crazy math formulas. And I have a math degree! The one on the right actually has exercises at the end of each chapter and sometimes Turbo Pascal code. I think the one on the right is a lot better read for me/or a lot of other people. These are old, but hey, I got them for a couple bucks.

I program like an artist, but I am definitely not an artist at programming. The great math genius behind what we do is my wife. She can solve and understand the most odd and difficult programming problems, and she enjoys solving them... I am always sort of a movie director in the projects, I lead people to understand each other, choose what to do and what not to do, and coming up with radical solutions and ideas nobody else seems to have, even if for me these solutions are rather simple and evident. My best service so, is being a director in any project, much more than programming. I find programming to a certain extent, boring.

Now, for sure, I prefer composing music over anything else that I could do as a multimedia developer, even if it is something simple and relaxed, as building a web page.

With all honesty, I am not in multimedia because it is the best for me personally, but because I can earn a living. Now, a musician, I am by nature.
