Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris

i have samplitude on my macbookpro thanks to bootcamp and it works great so i am ready for a test I am deeply convinced it will work as all my softwares for PC work perfectly...

I haven't heard of anyone having issues with Samplitude running in bootcamp - and there's quite a few people on the forums doing this.

Unknown. All I remember is Holger mentioning the ability to have two instances running, but I didn't prod him for any other details (the booth was loud and at times distracting).

no osc or mackie control, but i had a long conversation with Holger and Jurgen about it. they are very interested in adding this feature, but it is a lot of work, naturally. at this point, i'd say it's planned, but i don't think it's the first priority. a NICE letter to S/C saying that you'd like it can't hurt. thet do care about what people want and need. mackie control WAS planned at the time of the first insolvency, but the insolvency killed all developement. currently, they are catching up on several years worth of planned improvements(dilligently).

as to release, it's very close to ready, but there are still a few problems to be solved. if things go well, i'd say 30-45 days. if things go slow, well longer....

It may come down to SOMEONE actually taking the time to map all the controllers to the fader/knob objects in the SFP UI as well

What I'm concerned about is that they will come up with a version of scope specifically for X-cite that will be OSX compatible and that the version for the cards will only run on windows.

Is it possible one of you can confirm that the PCI cards will run on mac OSX when they release scope 5 or soon after...pretty please.

And yes I know that XTDM devices arent made yet, thats obvious, but what's in the pipeline...you know the kind of conversation you can have at these conventions.

If they're developing for OSX, then they're developing for OSX. Why would they design something that's not hardware compatible throughout their development scheme?
Pipeline? Not sure other than what's already been said - eventually OSX, and eventually 64-bit - and no I don't know when. I assume plenty more synths and good plugs. I presume more 3rd party development, etc. I assume scaled down units or cards for PCI-x.

'The Gentlemen' have a whole list of possibilities already, so I would just let them get this going, and then see what happens.

they are still making cards. v5 is for all of Scope, which includes XITE. the assumption is OSX is the same as XP or Vista...
as soon as i know, i'll say something, assuming someone else doesn't beat me to the punch. i don't really know any secrets, though i sometimes hear some scuttlebut. the thing is, if i knew a secret, i couldn't really tell you. for that reason, i don't try to pry secrets. the only reasons that things are kept secret is:
1. spies. you'd be surprised what some companies will do. they'll even join internet bulletin boards and forums just to troll and spread rumors and lies. they'll also steal your ideas.
2. people can't hate them for what they are unable to provide, if they don't know that they were going to get it. if S/C makes promises that they cannot keep, then people lose confidence in them at a much higher rate than if they kept their failures to themselves.

i wouldn't worry though. OSX is clearly announced to be a supported operating system on the flyer.

i'm not really clear on the xtdm bus. Holger mentioned i/o and multiple box expansion via that bus. it's obvious that function is already built in, but how it will be utilized, if at all, will depend on sales and the needs of their customers. i'd expect additional adat and/or z-link and a connector between boxes and what else is there?

I use my Scope system every day and drop by this forum very regularly but only post occasionally. The information provided is invaluable and the humour is good too (especially when Jimmy V gets going).

XITE looks great but Gary's beard is even more impressive....

It does me some good to see things for real, even if it's still under development.

Lots of improvements possible to that platform, as everybody stated and asked for here, not only because of technology evolution but also because it's Scope's main goal to interoperate with your whole musical equipment.
It's an impossible deadline to respect wanting S|C to fulfil all the wishes we have when you think about what's underneath and the time frame they had:
They probably had to focus on the top features (and that includes OSX for sure).

I might say that it could take some more time (and several upper Scope versions) after it's out to give us the best from it so let's be patient and open to testing.

And Gary, nice that you asked 'the gentlemen' about automation in scope. As you already told us they have other priorities at this time which I can understand, when (if!) the time comes that one can setup USB controllers with controller data feedback, and when scope mixers will be able to have more than 128 parameters being automated (maybe with better precision that 128 steps), the workflow will be drasticly improved.
But it's already a good thought that we know that they are aware of our wishes.

Back in March 2008 at Messe there was an announcement from SM Pro Audio about the " V Rack ". It does not exist. But they do have the V Machine which is testing the waters.

I was kind of let down when XITE-1 wasn't out when it was suppose to be, but once I went to NAMM, I realized how many developers with much larger companies have no product still and made claims long before SC did.

This is only one of many. There were even incompleted controllers being shown, buggy software, etc.

There are 8 in's, and 8 out's, the ins are high quality mic pres supposedly.......

The brochure made me laugh.....I couldn't seem to find the female XLR's?
Maybe it's 8 stereo mic pre in's and the out's are BluTooth >>>
