well i usually sequence most of the tune as midi then i will render all the parts and put them in acid for mixing (and screwing around with). ACID can also play MIDI but editing is not easy. with a wave file you can just "edit in sound forge" and sound forge opens and you can do what you want
and hit save. it loads right back into acid.
with midi however it is not so simple. you have to "edit in logic" (what i tried anyways) then it loads into logic, no problem, but when you hit "save" it does not work because the file is "in use" by ACID. so you have to export a midi file to disk(because logic wont just save a midi file noooo) as another name and replace it with the one you edited.. bleagh. all i am trying to output is CC controls for controling mixers/effects in pulsar and outboard.
i had limited sucsess syncing acid to logic (on my old system) it would only stay in sync if i did not edit anything while it was playing. after i finish my new device i will start experimenting and see if 2.26 ghz works better at that than 800

. i hate having 2 projects for 2 programs for each song though.
does it make any sense?
