It would be interesting to know what planet some of these people come from.

thanks for explanation, makes really sense
Since a long time I think it would be nice to know in what country people live.
From time to time it seems to be usefull -and nice- to know that.
I would like it if John would implement it on planetz' profiles as obliged...what you guys think?
(how long is it funny to know that one comes from universe, outerspace, milky way, cloud9, my mind, your mind, the future, planet world or mother's womb?)

Beautiful song and music
The voices sound to me, like separated from the music, I don’t know how to say… but they sound like far away from the song itself. The presence of the music versus the presence of the voices don’t work for me, if you could mix it differently, or search a way to melt the music and your voices some more, that would be perfect.
The fact that the voices sing all the time together makes things slightly flat. Perhaps detaching the voices from each other now and then, would be a real nice thing. Voices in general need more air in between.

Hey Nestor, thanks for dropping by! Yeah, I hear what you mean, it's as if the voices are in the center and the music surrounds them. I'll see if I can have them blending more when I go back to do the final mix. I'm trying hard to find a way to make this song work. I have most of the elements but there's this little elusive something which would wrap the whole thing together that I have to catch...

Hi Eliam,
First of all, I think you wrote a very beatiful song...
The arrangement is quite calm, relaxed and focused around the tonal cadances (spelling problem?) and gives the vocals room to breath in...
As some others stated, I think without anything happening, like adding rythmics elements, or to my ears, some organic instruments in the synthworld you created, I think it becomes a bit monotone.
A string instrument, like guitar, harp etc would really fit, and give some added treble.
About the mix, I feel also that the spacing and width of things is not living totally up to the potential. I would recommend 2 reverbs, one room to get the vocals stereo, and a nice plate for the ambience and vocals too. In addition to this, I think, you should be more aggresive on your compression, especially the voices, use them as tools to glue things together, rather than just volume control. Group the leads together in a compression group, and then the choir in another, where you maybe make the sound more thin, like hipass from 1000 hz.
Hope it makes sense...and good luck with it

Wow! Talk about resurrection! Thanks for the positive feed-back! I don't think you have the final mix of the tune, actually the album was released in the spring of 2006. I have another album near completion, I think I'm touching a wholly newe level with my new stuff, I'll be posting a few tunes in the next months.
thanks again, have a nice day!

I got that one long ago.
I learned to download tons of devices, music, and store SKF files on my internet DAW long time ago.
GaryB is a very thorough teacher w/ technical things.
It was stored and listened to. My storage date indicated that it was July 2005, shortly after I joined.
So could I still use Babelfish ?

It took me over a year to fish through the devices and music, as I don't consider them a priority, but many of the posts here are no longer valid.
I got really nervous when I lost Saturn when I first started, and then found the link was invalid. Luckily it came back up around Christmas time that year.
