bingo, please give me a hint on your camera.
it seems very light sensitive.
Is it a mirror reflex cam ß
Yes, I just got the camera this year, it's a Canon 5D. The night shots were made using the largest aperture of the lens ( 2.8 ) with a longer exposure time (you may distinguish "ghosts" in the image of the Cloud Gate sculpture which are just people moving during the exposure). I used a tripod to take all of those pictures.
You can read more here about Chicago Millenium Park and the Cloud Gate

Here is a larger image to get another perspective:

Astroman,
with the first pictures I had dificulties with the exposure since it was semi-dark outside while the stage was brightly lit.

thanks Bingo, I stand corrected...
the first 2 pics show geometric blur and distortion at the edges, while the last pic is exceptionally plain and detailed in that context.
since the first 2 pics also have the typical light loss to the edge of a simple cam (like my Casio), I thought of different models.

the (real scenery) illumination difference you mention is not so obvious on the images, the exposure control seems to compensate quite well.

I didn't expect you use a tripod and also wondered about the ghost images (how did he get that shot steady ??), but since the next one was significantly more crisp I considered it from a different cam

things aren't always what they look like...

anyway, great shots and a scenery that made me ask ... from what planet is it ?

cheers, Tom

wicked photos & artistic without tampering by the looks of it. I wish we had hi-tech cameras when I took photography classes at art school. We only had old fashioned cameras & had to develope the films in a darkromm ourselves. It took bloody ages

But happy days are here again my friends, as new DAW's are being built, and trim is everywhere at the beaches and pools in Las Vegas. Kinda sucks that the world is suffering while I am living large, but as they say,... the grass is always greener on the other threads.

Peace,

Hey Wayne

If you see Mia again soon, tell her I love her music. She captures real emotion in her songs and I appreciate it.

No worries!

Sorry I've been absent from this thread - net connection has been out for 2 months+

Back in the land of summery winters now - and have a new understanding of North America (which i needed  )

.....it's beautiful, and the people i met were wonderful. There is a deep appreciation and understanding of music there on a grassroots level, one we don't have yet in Australia. I, for one, dig it

Great pics, Bing - we played near the street under the shiny thing. Rain was great - battle the elements & rock on regardless
