Yo Brotha'Man Wayne,
Sounds like acoustic music. They will especially love you on opening night at North Shore if you throw an old Grateful Dead jam together there. As all of the people who live there are wealthy old hippies from the '60's. Do yourself a favor and ask where the Mesquite Grill is down the street. They have the best burgers in USA there, plus a good veggie menu. I played there and also did the Burning Mans Festival back in '94. It is the best dive at Lake Tahoe. If you have time, go to Hidden Beach which is 6 miles east of CBC. You will see some excellant naked women sun bathing and swimming there. The water is 47 degrees year round, so the titties will be quite perky. Don't miss South Street, or Gino's Phillie Steaks while in PA. either. I am stuck in Florida, sorry I missed you.

All done now - it was Thursday in Chicago at 5.30, and the torrential rain stopped us by 6.20

In Canada again now, at Guelph Lakes Hillside Festival, and back home to Australia tomorrow

- beautiful continent you have here, North Americans! A little crowded maybe....

All the gigs went well, highlight would have to be NY Central Park Summerstage with Ani DiFranco

Scored a "Little Martin" at Manny's on 48th - highly recommended travel axe! (not the backpacker one)

Too bad we missed you Bingo - we played after this crass teenyboypop band called the Fray - dudes could hardly play, and 3000+ gum-chewin' teen girls turned out to see them! Thankfully they dispersed and left us with a more normal crowd

Hope it went well 4 you. Just being able to see Lake Tahoe was worth it. BTW where are the views of that beautiful Apline scene. I'm sure you snapped a few.

Yes, I just got the camera this year, it's a Canon 5D. The night shots were made using the largest aperture of the lens ( 2.8 ) with a longer exposure time (you may distinguish "ghosts" in the image of the Cloud Gate sculpture which are just people moving during the exposure). I used a tripod to take all of those pictures.

with the first pictures I had dificulties with the exposure since it was semi-dark outside while the stage was brightly lit.

thanks Bingo, I stand corrected...

the first 2 pics show geometric blur and distortion at the edges, while the last pic is exceptionally plain and detailed in that context.
since the first 2 pics also have the typical light loss to the edge of a simple cam (like my Casio), I thought of different models.

the (real scenery) illumination difference you mention is not so obvious on the images, the exposure control seems to compensate quite well.

I didn't expect you use a tripod and also wondered about the ghost images (how did he get that shot steady ??), but since the next one was significantly more crisp I considered it from a different cam

things aren't always what they look like...

anyway, great shots and a scenery that made me ask ... from what planet is it ?
