you're right, they seem to have lost the mac route through the years.
At the same time we should be glad Creamware is still alive, after the clash of a couple of years ago, you can read alot about it on Planetz

OMS should work, I spend a few words on it above.

didn't knew about the problems of cw. well, actually I think they really do great products. I've got the pulsar for 200 eur and that card is more than a bargain, although it's already 5 or 6 years old! incredible.

however, I just wish they would double check their files (and their weblinks!!). that would help a lot to keep their customers satisfied.

lets see if they make things better on the new 4.5 website.

Mr. Chombee!

You seem quite adept. Thanks for the details.

Okay, I've downloaded both the .zip and .sit. The sub-folders in the .sit folder containing .dev & .pro were removed and replaced with sub-folders from the .zip folder containing .dev & .pro. The subfolder titles were "Devices" & "Presets". I then launched the SCOPE Platform Installer from the .sit folder. As in the past, it got to the Master Verb Pro device, and froze. After leaving the installer window several minutes, I quit it, and froze OS9.

After restart, I then pulled the Master Verb Pro ,dev out of the .sit file and launched the SCOPE Platform Installer again. This time it froze when it got to the VocoderIII device. Again, after waiting several minutes for the installer to unfreeze, I quit it, resulting in OS9 freezing.

hrmmm...as I already mentioned before, I can't remember which folders I replaced exactly. you may try to overwrite all folders instead of the one which contains the installer application.

I could also send you my working installer folder by email. just pm me with your email.

best,
nico

Dear Nico,

You and Samplair are awesome. Between the two of you, I hope to resolve this issue.

I wasn't sure how to access your email for a PM, so here's my email address for the world to see: dwc@surewest.net

Thanks for all your kindness.

I'll be back in the studio tomorrow. will send the file asap.

btw, I have emailed the problem to creamware support around 2 weeks ago. haven't received any reply yet and the sit file link is still broken, but obviously they have uploaded a new zip file to their ftp download server (look at the file-upload date). not sure if that one is working though...

Hey, Nico!

Thanks for going to all this effort, and for the detailed instructions. But I could not get it to install.

1) In my OSX partition, the .zip file was downloaded and unstuffed with StuffIt. (I remember being told to only download and open files in OS9, but will follow the directions.) I then relocated the unstuffed .zip file to my OS9 partition>Users>Desktop.

2) Rebooted into OS9.

ISSUE 1? I couldn't locate the .zip file that I had unstuffed in OSX. (I'm assuming OS9 won't recognize the OSX file?)
So, I'm going to use a .zip file that was downloaded and unstuffed with StuffIt on the OS9 drive, which then showed as "Scope4Mac.ZIP Folder".

3) I downloaded your .sit file, which showed on my OS9 desktop as "transfer .php".

4) Unstuffed the "transfer .php" file with StuffIt, which showed as "scope_platform4.0_working".

5) Opened the "scope_platform4.0_working" folder.

6) Dragged FROM the .zip (Scope4Mac.ZIP Folder), INTO your .sit folder (scope_platform4.0_working) the following: Devices, Manual, Presets, Optional Plugins, Projects.

ISSUE 2? There are 3 other folders in the .zip that are not in the .sit, so I'm risking not following the directions have dragged them from the zip to the .sit folder as well. They are: Modular III Modules, Modular 2 Modules, Samples.

7) ISSUE 3? In the "scope_platform4.0_working" folder, there is no OMS installer (only documents I can't open titled "FINDER.DAT", "Install OMS 2.3.8" & "RESOURCE.FRK>INSTAL1.8". The .zip folder similarly has no OMS installer, just a document I can't open entitled "Install OMS 2.3.8". So, I took the OMS 2.3.8 Installer from the original Creamware 4.0 CD, dragged it to the Desktop, installed and Restarted.

ISSUE 4?
*Running "OMS Setup", it asks for me to check whether my MIDI connection is through the Modum or Printer port.
*Since my MIDI is connected via the Pulsar 2 card, I did not check either and clicked continue, then received and error: "The OMS driver 'Creamware OMS driver' could not be loaded".
*I clicked "okay". A window opened, offering me to "customize" to add drivers manually as well as "Studio Patches pgm chg", "QuickTime Music" & "IAC driver".
*Clicking "customized" did not allow me to add a driver manually, it merely produced the same error: "The OMS driver 'Creamware OMS driver' could not be loaded".
*I went back and tried searching for a Modum driver. While "searching for driver hardware...", it ran though a list of drivers, ie: "Studio 5 OMS Driver", "Studio 4 OMS Driver", "Studio 64X OMS Driver", "Studio 128X OMS Driver", "Creamware OMS Driver", etc. After search, received error: "The OMS driver 'Creamware OMS Driver' could not be loaded". Clicked "okay".
*Tried "Troubleshoot" again, this time picked "Printer" port, and it's running through the same "searching for driver hardware...", except this time it seems stuck on "Studio 5 OMS Driver", so after waiting several minutes, I clicked "stop", only to find that OS9 had frozen.
*Hard Shutdown. Startup again.
*Will install SCOPE first, then try to run OMS Setup, assuming there is perhaps something in the SCOPE installer that will give OMS what it needs to recognize MIDI in the Pulsar 2 card.

 Created new folder entitled "SCOPE" in OS9 Application folder.

9) ISSUE 5? There is no installer in the "scope_platform4.0_working" folder, only an indecipherable document listed as a SimpleText doc. I saw your recommendation posted on 2006-07-21, but I don't know how to access Creamware's ftp server, so I went back to your recommended location posted 2006-07-13: http://creamware.de/download/software/s ... orm4.0.sit and downloaded that file for the installer. I dragged that installer entitled "SCOPE Platform Installer" into the "scope_platform4.0_working" folder, which replaced the text file of same title, "SCOPE Platform Installer". Tried twice to run the installer from the "scope_platform4.0_working", but it only seemed to expand, but then no window opened on the Desktop. I dragged it out of the "scope_platform4.0_working" folder, onto the Desktop, and double-clicked. Again, I see lines expand outwardly as if a window were going to open, but the installer window never appears on the Desktop.

10) Unable to get to this last step, since the installer won't run.

Hi Doug, I sent you a link to my Scope Platform installer and all, it SHOULD work
Creamware's Scope file must be right, but this way you have another chance

Download indeed from OS9.2.2 .
Via OSX it doesn't work.

To be sure, before installing remove from the extension folder the possibly already installed files: alloc, Creamware Audio Driver and CrossDev.dll.

Remember my OMS tip

Don't let me read this thread again, but what operating system again did you use?

good luck
