Funny, the second post by algorhythm had the answer that everyone wanted.

To answer your question jb, SPDIF doesn't "show up" in Sonar at all (directly), but if you wire SPDIF Source to Wave Destination(?) then SPDIF is sent through the Wave drivers, and you can record it that way.

With Logic/Cubase, you use "ASIO Destination" instead of Wave Destination, and in Sonar, I'm not exactly sure what drivers that uses, but I'm assuming it's Wave Destination. (Can you confirm?)

Might want to check that you're getting a SPDIF signal by connecting a VU meter before the destination and be sure you're using fresh clean SPDIF modules from V3.01.

Excuse me mates but...
Using 1 Interleaved wave source we have 16 out,yes?
But using 8 normal wave sources we have the same number of outputs or not (8 stereo channel=16 Monos)!?
My problem is that i can't use more than 16 outputs for some complex projects,and using one interleaved in alternative to normal wave source the problem still remains!!
I can use more than 1 interleaved wave source?
I think w2k with so few kernel streaming channels is a piece of shit!

Get XP, which is a B.I.G. step forward. I ran Win98, 2k, XP. XP has, like 98, 'infinite' amount of wav ports. ME & 2k are limited :/

Only XP has only 16Bit drivers for now, but I think the 24Bit's are lying just around the corner

When I disable "MME only" setting in SONAR and run Wave Profiler it recognizes 64 ins/outs. SONAR sees 8 "Pulsar Record" input devices and 8 "Pulsar Playback" output devoces. Each device has 8 pairs marked as 1/2, 3/4, ... 15/16. Though they semm to be pairs, these are MONO channels. The only working channel in each device is 1/2. And it works ONLY with left channel of Wave module or 1st channel of interleaved one. I tried every connection to them and got no signal from anywhere but 1/2 mono channel. I have no idea (though would learn of it gladly) how you made them work.
In "MME only" mode SONAR sees all (up to 8 ) stereo devices. Waves work ok. Only first two (it was one with WDM) channels of interleaved module work.

2 atomic:

I have XP installed. Pulsar Windows driver allows only 8 devices with 16 channels max. When trying to type in more than 8 devices or 16 channels, you get 8/16 next time you click "settings" for your Pulsar device in Hardware Manager. If you have more than 16 channels (16 bit or not) please tell me how you achieved it.

Thanks for that - I can't remember back to the second post!

hmm.... I don't know why your setup works so much different than mine. I'm using XP, but that shouldn't make a big difference.

Maybe you could try just setting up 1 interleave source and dest, delete AUD.INI (well, make a safe copy) and try to re-profile.

As I said it works fine for me - and for me the Wave devices are the ones in mono. I've never ticked the "use MME only" box - if that makes any difference.

I guess there would be no point for me to use only one interleaved device since I could get all these 16 channels with 8 usual wav MME drivers. If I could use at least two interleaved... I'll try but...

sorry, I forgot you're on XP. What I meant was - set yourself up with 1 interleaved device to make sure it works. You should not have pulsar wave 2 through 8 etc. (this is what I got when I went up to 3.01).

Then you could check that it's working in stereo etc - and if all is well, add more interleave devices, run wave profiler and see how many you get away with.

It would be nice if the guys at Creamware would clear this up!
