I'm using the 3.01 drivers, and it only lets me use 8 "wave source" modules.. is this a fact? Can I verify it somewhere? Any workarounds?
I've got an old project on Samplitude and I need the wave source modules.
I'd suppose it'll give me more if I used ASIO.. too bad Samplitude isn't ASIO.
Perhaps I can change the numbers if I first unload all my Pulsar apps? (being optimistic)

use the interleaved ones. they give 8 drivers each. then you get 64 if you use 8 of them!

seems like it's only compatible with Logic tho.. Is there a way to use it in Samplitude?
(the best answer seems to be to trash samplitude once and for all..)

man.. I just don't understand why these guys don't go ASIO.. the software itself was so well built. (sigh)
Oh well, it's sad to see another great piece of software die off. (it's now MAGIX that distributes Samplitude I believe)

You're right, but Sek'd now has a new multitrack editor, called Sequoia or something. Judging by the pictures on their site it does look a lot like Samplitude...

I'm now settling with a Nuendo solution..
But the Creamware dudes better get the wav module working like before or else I can't get back to any of my older projects. Anybody have some news on this?
(I mean, get real.. a project with only 8 stereo tracks??)

you could reset the ports in Samplitude, see if you can remote control mixer settings and write to midi files. import to Cubase both audio and set Samplitude's CC# control the VST mixer.
Cakewalk would allow that easily: setup the same mixer, assign all CPWA remote to Cubase's Generic remote (you can find a midi map for a huge extended VST mixer at PC1600 unofficial homepage, DefectiveRecords, and get Gilbert Polquin's cubase vst 5.0 remote. Install his .xml in Cubase as remote device, he explains how to do that.
If you could do that AND assign the same CC# to Samplitude, you're saved.

Worst Case Scenario or if you didn't do too much of fades: record Samplitude in a couple of times to ASIO...

bad guess?

The driver says 8 and max chan is 16.
I want these numbers to say 16 and 32, or atleast that's how they used to be in win98.

Atomic, the "record from Samplitude into Nuendo" idea could be the final solution... it's just a pain to think I can't get back to any of my old projects.. I practically spent the last 4 years on Samplitude.. and I have most of the songs saved in Samplitude format.

Atleast I can do this for this christmas project I need to finish up right now and think about how to bring back the dead, afterwards.

I haven't tried 3.0 in XP but I would guess it's more or less the same. It must be the new WDM driver idea... Or perhaps creamware simply hasn't done enough testing yet. I'd guess they'll be coming out with some decent drivers now that XP's been out for a while.

It's really sad to admit that I possibly will have to switch to Logic. At least until SONAR goes ASIO or EASI or is able to use Pulsar interleaved wav...

The problem is, the driver only allows me to go up to 8 devices. Anything lower, numbers are saved. Anything higher, the number goes back to 8.

It's strange I can load 16 or however many I want in the project though it doesn't show up in Samplitude... on 98, Pulsar OS used to nag me about not having enough wav drivers, now it seems to ignore the limit..

Could it be a local Samplitude problem in XP? Could it happen than other wave-based applications can use all 16 modules?
(I'm saking because I can't try it all yet - haven't received my Pulsar II yet).

Sorry guyz but that is anotha creamwhore's bullshit!
I have the same problem with SONAR (all versions from 1.0 to latest 1.3.1) using WDM drivers under w2k and pulsar 3.0 (and 3.01 too).
If u switch to use MME drivers all seems to work (im not really sure coz i've maded some tests weeks ago but im tryng to make work wave drivers with WDM drivers not MME!!).
Sad but true Creamwhore have maded anotha of their bullshits!
Bomb the creamwhore's forum and support with posts askin for a REALLY WORKING WDM wave driver, mates!
See ya.
