Can you load a BigMixer, STS4000 Sampler (8 or more voices) and a Timeworks EZ/4080 Verb? That's the true test, a basic workhorse project for a PulsarI. I have yet to see it work on a KX133 chipset (I'd say impossible), but heard a few people were lucky enough to get it working on a KT133. Which rev...

I thought Zorba was first? And the AnaFX Pulsar FX bundle is an option too...

Zorba is pretty cool, but it'll eat your entire screen with it's massive graphic interface. It looks like a space ship :]

Nice idea. Creamware has run a Modular2 patch contest in the past, and has taken the winning patch and done just that: Created a device out of it. Also for a small fee, people with SCOPE would probably do this for you, I think Zarg Music even has a statement to that effect on his website. There are ...

Well, you get the 2 new mixers which cost over $100 together in the Creamware shop, one is a surround mixer. I also think I heard you can now run the Free Pulsar Devices on your elektra as well! Try it out, go to the PlanetZ download pages and grab PePerGhost Synthesizer and try it on your Elektra, ...

Nope; The ASUS CUSL2 actually gets around a RAM limitation inherent in the Intel i815E/P chipsets, by giving you three RAM slots! In this respect, it's the best 815 board out.

If you need more than 512megs of ram, then the most solid proven choice is a BX board like the ASUS CUBX.

Well, in the past, Mixing on DSPs didn't really do anything. Not sure if it's fixed with Logic versions past 4.5.

Subject: more "usual suspects" Great post! You forgot to mention disabling background/startup stuff: 1. Start->Run->msconfig <enter> 2. Startup tab -- remove Microsoft FastFind, Adobe gamma correction, and anything else you can get away with. Regscan only runs once at startup and is probab...

Subject: don't upgrade in the middle of a project! first, a word of advice: never change your setup (hardware, OR software) in the middle of a project. it can cause all sorts of problems as you're seeing. if you loaded your project inside 2.04a, and saved it using 2.04a, it is possible some of the m...

Subject: Re: thanks seth, but... Sounds like you may have a driver problem. I don't use Cubase, but I imagine you would need to reinitialize the sound driver when you change it, and re-tweak all the sound driver settings. This would be somewhere like "Audio Preferences" and you will probab...

Subject: midi feedback loop? Sounds like you're sending MIDI sync messages now out the proper ports; Usually getting a sync message, but an incorrect speed means you have a MIDI feedback loop happening. This happens to me, too, if I have Logic set to send sync out all my MIDI ports. Try just sending...
