the reverb problem always was critical to me. i have opportunity to compare mv pro to some of the well known units and there are my thoughts.

first of all the names of hardware units to compare:

lexicon pcm-90 (previously owned)
lexicon pcm-60 (present)
lexicon lxp-15 (present)
lexicon ...

Saturn to me is a very good Jupiter 6 emulation. Actually owning real JP-6 I could compare and must say that sound of real thing is much rounder. But overall impression is that Saturn catches the agressive character of the original machine. They sound similar in fact.

Did anyone try the following combination on the same PC: Scope cards and Symbolic Sound Kyma? Do they go together? Any problems or tuning tricks?

I'm a collector's collector too. But some of my toys are temporary out of usage only beacuse I do not have enough AD-inputs. They are:
Roland JX8P,
Ensoniq SQ2,
Novation Super Bass Station,
Roland SDX-330,
MAM Warp 9.

My power supply is an ordinary chinese thing (230V) with custom cord ending in phone plug.

I think warranty ended for all A16 classic units about 2 years ago. Also if there's no seal you are free to open the box.

Yes, I got one!
It has one good feature - it's a NORMAL mic preamp. With no hype (like TLA) or perversion of a quasi-vintage type.

What if one of the owners of A16 (or Ultra) open the box and find out what AD/DA chips are used? I have missed my opportunity..

Yes it was original A16 but for some reason I do not believe that Ultra sounds much better.

Of course the analog output stage of DA-converter unit does matter (as well as AD).
Apogee AD8000 and Midiman Delta 1010 use the same AD-chip (AKM 4393) but their sound qualities cannot even be compared ...

Well.. I'll tell you the whole story.

When I first got pulsar2 I bought A16 with it as the front end. At that time I already had Yamaha 01V digital mixer with ADAT I/O. Short comparison of 01V and A16 unfortunately was not in favor of A16. Yamaha (linear inputs) and CW box ADs sounded nearly ...

There IS the difference. RME sounds more rounded and pro. A16 to me is more on the multimedia level.
