Why don't you start by installing version 2.5 and see if that helps?
It's a free update and has some really cool new fx's...

The following is from the 2.01 update readme:
"File System Error" and "File System Object not found"

Platforms and Version Reason 2.0 for Windows (all versions), Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Problem A "File System Error" message appears when creating a device or when attempting to load a file or patch into an existing device.
A "File System Object not found" message appears when creating a device or when attempting to load a file or patch into an existing device.

Fix Reason now creates devices and loads files and patches without "File System Error" and "File System Object not found" messages."
They seem to think that it's fixed in 2.01
Maybe you should try a fresh install ?

yessssssss

solved the problem after searching in some of the reason forums .
i enter to c> decument and setings >user name
> Application Data >Propellerhead Software >
reason > delet the file that was there and when i open reson again al the settings that in the pereferences of reason engine return to the defult and everything worked fine.
how easy life could be sometime:)
and remember to enable view on all file and folders .
cheers
