Level difference between analog & SP-Dif out ???

I noticed that the analog out in my pulsar (Z-link model) is about -5dB quieter than SP-Dif output. Is this normal? Can anybody confirm this? I wonder what is the logic behind this... SP-Dif gives accurate output level while analog out is quieter even playback in pulsar mixer peaks at near zero.

Analog out plugged into ???
Spdif out plugged into???
