Can anyone help me out, I am running cubase 5.1 on a pc with my pulsar card connected to a midiman 4x4.
My problem is that every couple of days the midiman does not recognise the driver and I have to uninstall the drivers in place and re-install them again. I did not mind doing this at the start but it is starting to annoy me.
I have the same configuration as you have, cubase 5.1 and a midiman midisport 4x4, no problems at all, it works fine from the first time. Therefore it would be great if you provide us with more info about your computer, the Mobo brand and chipset, processor, memory, bios date, and some other info you consider important, such as other drivers for other midi/music hardware.
This is a wild guess, I'd check your bios settings to see if for some reason it desable USB configurations.
Perhaps you need to reinstall its drivers once more (or replace them with brand new ones if available) or just check if anything USB interferes with your setup. Additionaly, the interface should not share any USB port and should be connected directly to your PC (no hub connections in the port nor the interface chained to your USB keyboard.

I use a midisport interface(8x8). From what I've gathered, USB midi interfaces & audio software are like tequila & milk, it's hard to mix them but it can be done. I'm using Logic & there is a big problem between that combo. I usually have to open the SFP project a couple of times before it will work properly(after the Logic project is opened). Also, in your sync options, make sure your frame rate matches up with your sample rate(ie 44.1kHz = 25 or 30 / 48kHz = 24). I've had problems in Logic with this in the past. Also definitely install the most recent drivers for the midisport. I have heard of people needing to install the drivers twice. I've heard many USB midi interface horror stories but they are usually corrected. USB just seems a little unstable for audio apps. It can be done though. Try out some different things. You should figure it out OK. Good luck!
