Hi everyone,
I was just wondering...I have a pulsar 1 (IRQ=9) and a Pulsar 2 converted to a SRB 2 (IRQ=5). Is this OK ? Which board should be assigned 0 and which 1? I only ask because my 24 bit projects don't seem to sound any better than my 16 bit projects. I definitely have 10 DSPs. The I/Os are all via the P1.
I'm not very tech minded (yet) so I wondered if someone could please confirm this for me.

IRQ and board assignment

First, an IRQ does not change your sound. As long as you don't run into blue screens or clicks, there probably isn't much to worry about.
Pulsar2 should be the leading board, it has an ULLI chip: you can get latency below 13ms.
Here's an IRQ list, from high to lower priority:
0, 1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
If possible, set both CW cards to IRQ9. If that can't be done, I'd swap both cards, so Pulsar2 has the IRQ9 (excellent priority!).

Thanx AtOmic for your advice. What is the best or easiest way to change the IRQ? Or if I physically swap them around in the case should I uninstall them first using the device manager?
Also in the CSET.ini there is this:

Numboards=1
Board0=Host
Should I add the lines suggested in the manual i.e
[board0]
boardid=1
[board1]
boardid=0

oh well, for anyone that's interested, I swapped the boards in the computer. Now P1 is IRQ 5, and P2 is IRQ 9. Also I had to change hostboard to 1. But now it sounds great! Which is nice!
Oh and I have latency of 4ms
