I might be missing something obvious, or maybe it's just not possible!

If I have say bass on one programme set midi channel 1 of the Volkszampler and piano on programme 2 set to midi channel 2, how can I record a seperate midi part in Logic for the bass and piano. I have the Volkszampler as audio instrument 1, if I have two midi tracks in Logic named 'audio instrument 1' I can't seem to use an independent midi channel for each one. If I change the midi channel of one to two the one the other changes. Is there a way around this. I hope so!

Found out the answer on the Creamware forum. i have to create a multi-audio instrument in the audio environment.

Logic does'nt support multitimbral VSTi for the moment. So only one instrument for each audio instrument. However this will be corrected in Logic 5.
And there is nothing that keeps you from having multiple Volksamplers at once or at least there should'nt be.
