Fader automation with different MIDI channels

I have this Digital Mixer which I want to use to control pulsar mixers, I know how to assing CC to a fader in order to move in sync with my mixer's. The problem is that each fader on my digital mixer transmits on different channels, say , fader #1 uses Midi channel #1, fader #9 uses Midi channel #9, and all of them use the same CC# to transmit the fader value, therefore I've been having trouble when the fader respond to every fader on my mixer. As long as I know I can't change the mixer's CC's number . Do you guys know a way to get over this situation?

Well, i had the same problem. I had to configure my midi controller to send on channel1 and send different CC#.

like this channel-1 cc1 = volume1
like this channel-1 cc2 = volume2
like this channel-1 cc3 = volume3
like this channel-1 cc4 = volume4
etc...

This is one of my longest standing request, the mixer should really support multiple channels like a multi (like STS samplers) for STM1632, and at least 2 multi (2 x 16 channel) for bigger mixer like STM2448

That's the way to do it, although remember some sequencers do reset controllers on 'Stop'. This can result in CC#1=0, muting channel1. Check out my MIDI page in the Study forum for more info.

Yes.., I agree with you,.. but other solution would be some kind of device to "remap" Midi messages to CC values that allows me to control any device. I think that would take less effort than reprogram all the mixers.

I would do as you say..,but I can't change my fader's midi channel and CC values

Try http://www.bome.com/midi/ Midi translator: Will induce some latency though.

You can also do this with MIDI-OX, which doesn't introduce latency (kernel level driver mapping).

You can save preset and recal them, work like 'snapshot' of any midi setup...

you might 'build' your own mixer from several channel devices from the SFP mixer menu. Use a common midi in and set the receiving channel in the bottom of each strip. Route the bunch of outs into an aux minimixer (or whatever you prefer)

Thank you guys.. Midi-OX and Bome's Midi translator are solving my problem, now it's just a matter of deciding for one of them. I keep thinking that SFP should have some kind of device capable of midi translation like this kind of software.

Astroman has got a great idea that I'll try ASAP, the channel devices seems like a clean solution.
