In the town where I live we have the Club Extravaganza dance party, a non commercial and unbound party, music style is operating between club and techno.
In september we have celebrated the 10 year anniversary of it, rather special in dance world, that long.

I was asked to compose a jubilee song which should be played from cd that night, while someone should bring a special jubilee speech.
(i.c. by the same guy who sung the Strictly Christmas tune, see here on planetz).

Image hehe

I made this song in close contact of course with the speech maker, leaving all the 'room' to his text.
Everything turned out as planned, he did the speech, while people were waving with hundreds of big real sunflowers, a beautiful sight!

Now I finished what you can call the 'studio' version, meaning I recorded the speech at my place, and mixed it with the original music file as if all was recorded life.
(may be we gonne include this mix on cd with the next tickets).

Haha, this mix is mutch more life than the original 'life' mix...
I used a lot applaus and noisy crowd samples, put the music file (the original 'life' mix with the spoken samples!) in the same reverb room as the speeching voice, and added fireworks at the end, something that couldn't be done with the original life mix, for some profane reasons.

One thing here to explane: the speech of course is in dutch (garyb likes local  ), but the English spoken voice samples we recorded in my studio, and put them in the original file that was played ,life' from cd.
The speecher had to speech life in close cooperation with his own (recorded) 'samples', carefully timing his words.
These samples are in a way just funny reflections or answers, descriptions to his speech.
Hmm, am I clear?

His speech is about memorising the 'special places' where the parties took place all those years, also, as you will guess, it's a big thank-you to all the volunteers working at light, sound and decoration, but also and 'last but not least', he is saying thanks to all the faithful visitors, 'Xtravaganza is YOU'

Have a listen, it's life as a studio can be... Image

Huub,

I didn't even realize I put my 2 cents in such a great work!
You did a great job! You should compose film music! It made me stop my breath in some moments. Very colorful, imaginative, creative, fire, higher, power . . . . . . Yes, definitely, you should add it as a part of tickets!!!!

10/10

Well, it’s not the kind of music I would listen at I’m not a club man at all, but frankly, it’s a fantastic job!

The sound of the whole is really good, and the mix itself is excellent. I think it’s a difficult job to do, completely different from everything I’ve heard before and so this makes things it even more difficult.

Very good job indeed!

Hey! Cool track - I especially liked the "Speaker", he was a real partystarter
I also liked all the soundeffects, and the way all the different sentences were mixed together. Great atmospheare and a nice ending.

Just Cool!

Cheers!
Thomas
