I promised some time ago to post examples of sampled orshestral compositions. This one features piano, harp and string orchestra, and every sound on this piece is a sample, except the bass clarinet solo at the end, which I performed. I could not even use the LP filtering assigned to the volume controler on the strings since I used gigastudio to make it.

This is a song with lyrics, but I decided to put only the music so you can better hear the music.

Enjoy!

Wow... thanks! This is much about spending literally hundreds of hours on a few songs and patiently yet passionnately charge them with all my love... Which I can afford to do because of my life's choices. Thanks God!

And Marcus wanted me to tell that I'm the happy owner of a single Luna 11 card, which is one of the pillars of my DAW. Thanks to Marcus, whom I must thank very much for helping me out selflessly on my computer adventures!

The strings are mostly from Advanced Orchestra, Garritan's Gigaharp, and my mp-9000 keyboard on-board piano sound.

Hi,
really well done! I first thought that the music belongs to the movie i watched on TV at the same time ( I only wanted to download it to hear it later and my player starts automaticly. It´s just that you don´t think i´m doing both things everytime at the same time  ). And it fitted nearly perfectly!

Nicely done, Eliam.

One thing disturbs me though. I listened to your piece several times looping Winamp and I finally put my ears on it. there are way too many ideas in this piece. You could easily have composed 5 songs with the thematic material. Ok, the song is called "Different Faces" and that alone can justify the style of the tune. I don't know...to me(as a composer) it sounds like you lost track of the original idea and started doodling. This is not necessarily a bad thing because you came up with a wealth of material for a few more well structured songs.

Keep it up!

Right!

Many themes exposed as in an opera or a movie(Star Wars is on example)

An OUVERTURE!

Thanks for the constructive comment, Paul. I think you're right, it's just too crowded and would benefit of a more spacious atmosphere. I'm in a process of finding my own musical language and I sometimes stretch the envelope, if I can put it like that! Making a piece complete without charging it too much is one of my challenges...

Paul, if you happen to have a spare hour sometime, I could use some of your feed-back on other material I'm putting together,,,
