YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm seriously thinking to exchange my luna with a pulsar 2 to get 24/48mixer and fx pack 2!!!!! whant to say? price seems reasonable, and the only one thing that comes to my mind is: "does creamware wants to give away all its stocks before entering in the music market with something really new and kick-a*s?"
however... i just decide what will be my cristmas present! :wink:

Can you really change the Luna ? It sounds like they're just upgrading the Pulsar 1. If you can upgrade Luna II, I DEFINITELY will.

I'm sure they're just about to release something well hot, but I think I'd rather take advantage of the up and coming cheapness of their existing stuff.

It would be an offer for me if it was only board-to-board exchange (with no additional plugins). I am satisfied with all the plugs I own. For me nothing special.

There were similar offers here in Poland in the '80. If you wanted to buy a kilo of sausage you had to buy additionaly a jam-jar. Without the option you weren't able to buy sausage at all.

first of all, excuse the ,multiple post, i had some problems with the connection, and i don't konw wheter my first post was published or not... please john, delete one of the two!

i received TWO mails from creamware, one regarding
pulsar 1 -> pulsar 2 upgrade
and the other regarding
Luna -> pulsar 2 upgrade
(i own both pulsar and luna)
the strange thing is that the price seems the same for both upgrading...

Not too strange, IMO:
Pulsar1 is a 1st generation card w 4 DSP
Luna is a 2nd generation card w 3 DSP...
...so both an be somehow seen as 'same value'.

I would pick the Pulsar 1 any time. 25% more DSP, better I/0 connections (IMO) is to me worth more than the ULLI. But that is me.

And what about the software package? STS3000, Mod2, mixers and synths? They are not standard for Pulsar 1 but you could buy them for a nice prioce one day (99 Euros)

These extra soft that came w Pulsar1 will not be free still for the candidate Luna-owner: He does a hardware upgrade, won't get Mod2, STS etc.

That's fair. Peace :cool:

Well, I bought the Pulsar ProPack for my Luna II (yes, it worked) & have since bought the STS3000, so I have the exact same software as those who have a Pulsar II. I'm a bit ambivalent here. The offer is generous, really. But I have no fax so how to get new referring codes I dunno. Better go for the X-mas deal instead, thus I'll have 9 DSPs and more IO.
I allready made up my mind to buy a Gibson Les Paul '56 Gold Top for combined birthday/christmas present, now I don't know to do!! Arrgh!

I don't get it. You have to exchange your pulsar 1 for a pulsar 2, and pay E 599,-, for two extra dsp, while you could buy a Luna with 3 dsp for about E 450,- or a 6 DSP XTC card for 799,-.
What am I missing?

Hey I'm not "hating", I'm just wondering what the deal is because I don't see it. Which brings me back to my question, what am I missing here? Why should it be "better for some", everybody gets the same stuff don't they?

Upgrading from Pulsar1 to Pulsar2 makes you pay 300€ perr DSP. That is just about the same price, as when you buy a new Pulsar2 (in expensive Denmark anyway). So you don't get more I/O, but you get ULLI and maybe better software (depending on, what you had already), and you pay the same €/DSP as usual. I would believe, you also get a new waranty!
To some it would be a good deal - not to me, but to some.

ok, so what about those "professional dynamics and mastering tools" you get. Do they mean Optimaster and Psy-Q? If you get those for free with it, I'd say it's a pretty good deal, otherwise, well, it wouldn't give me anything I don't have already, (I already have a Powersampler, so I got the ULLI) and you actually pay more for the extra DSP, than you would if you bought it seperately.

I was going to, I'm just commenting on- and asking a question about the CW offer, do you have a problem with that? (I don't think I said something awful anywhere did I?)

I see what you mean King, it's a price-per-DSP calculation.

I wonder though, from the earlier comment about something new in the works from CW, whether there may be a new board not compatible with Pulsar-I. That could be a reason to try to shift people up from it before they get annoyed that the new board is not compatible.

Pure speculation of course, but would that be a possibility ?

Another good reason for Xmas offer could be that Creamware worked a lot with new SFP 3.1c with a few margin. Now with this low price, and with their software v3.1c that runs quite perfectly , they need to make more $$$ .

That could be the reason of the offer : to sell more cards so that they can gain some $$$ for the big software-work on sfp3.1c (that they did with no speculation for existing pulsar users...).

sYm
