Hi,
i just wanted to know if this is normal,
i´ve got a P4 2Ghz with ASUS Motherboard and 512MB 266Mhz RAM.
I´ve got a Pulsar 2 with Luna 2 (9 DSP´s)running in this system under Windows XP.
So i´ve got following problems:
Every Fader or button which i move first time in Pulsar brings logic to stop.
If i move the button or fader the 2nd time, then logic runs on.
I checked if in Windows98 i´ve got the same effect, and it wasn´t, everything did run fine.
(i tuned my WindowsXP for Audio with Standard PC etc... disabling every unnecessary animation etc..)

Yes, you need to set logic process a higher priority. In Task Manager -> processes right click logic.exe (or how is it named) and right click -> set priority -> ABoveNormal.
There's a setting in Logic that makes this default (i don't which one, but I've been told so). At least you can modify the Logic shortcut. Look at tips & tricks forum for XP priority

He's not talking about priority here, but the fact that logic stop playing completely when the focus is not on Logic... This is really an option in logic, i think it is called 'release audio in background' or somethings like this...
This is the same in fruityloop for example, and in Fruity it is called 'close device driver when in background'.

i don´t know if i can start logic when i am moving a fader in SFP, because i must set logic active and then i cannot move anything in SFP ?!? (do you mean to do a midi remote.. this i haven´t checked).., but as you said, when i move the fader the 2nd time (every fader or button) after logic did stop, logic doesn´t stop.
and so it is with every fader or button or knob in logic.. i always have to move it 1 time, logic stops and when i press play again in logic and move the fader the 2nd time it works fine.
Is there nobody who uses logic and SFP together like me under WinXP ???

Yes, i do, i had the exact same problem, exact same behavior. Go check your options in logic, i pretty sure of what i'm saying! On 2002-10-24 13:16, poligon wrote:

Also, for those who still have ASIO error in Logic, have a look a the last check box. This prevent those stupid errors.

OK BOYS, i just want to share my experience, finally i did get it to work fine.
I only changed the Task-Priority in the Task-manager from logic´s exe from "normal" to "high" and ....
Everything did work fine, i can now move 10 synths in SFP-Software and turn 10 knobs ... logic runs and runs.. and never stops
))
Now the problem was that the priority is always set to "normal" when you start logic, but with this tool you can change it so that it is always set to "high" when you start logic..

So simple ... i am glad to have now XP running with SFP and Logic.. because i tested these Weeks Win98 again and it was really idiotic.. always these many many new starts of the system as it hangs always after 1 hour at least. XP is much much more stable. Cool
