Hi guys
I know theres a lot of discussion when it comes to chipsets and PCI performance.I've looked at all the chipsets at Intel.com but they all show the same thing really:
It shows that PCI,LAN,USB,ATA,all go through
the ICH2 part of the chip, while RAM nad AGP use MCH.
Does this mean PCI+USB+ATA will always clash.I ask this because some people had problems with PCI v USB using same buss.
Could someone clarify how they interact with eachother?
Thx!

Sorry, your answer is too complicated for my head...
What I know... USB=Problems.
Almost every manufacturer of software and audio cards, tell that USB should be disabled.

May be you can try, or find the way to use another devise instead the USB one...

usb seems to be o.k. on the newer (845/850) chipsets.(at least the logic dongle is not overly troublesome)

No, it means USB connects directly with Intel's hub architecture - unlike some other chipset makers where the USB is sitting directly on the PCI bus just like any other device.

Be careful as now some motherboard makers are including 'USB 2.0' but it is just an integrated PCI card powered by an NEC chip many times - chipset-integrated USB 2.0 is much prefered!

So does this mean, that with my TUSL2-c I don't need to worry about USB devices?

Usually they should be fine - note that the 'expansion' usb ports that come on the bracket do, however, use the PCI bus, unlike the onboard USB ... check the manual for a motherboard layout diagram to see this.
