Hi, I am using pulsar II with Mac and logic audio. I am getting unconsistant hum from my audio outs from my cards. Is there any solutions to wipe out that noise?
I am using big mixer and I would like to assign each out of logic to each in of pulsar big mixer. (i.e. Logic cha 1 to Pulsar big mixer channel 1 or L, not cha 1 to pulsar L+R ins)
I am new to logic.. plese help me out. thanx
ground looping? hum sounds from my audio out
Hi,
the hum and noise hasn't anything to do with the routing in the Pulsar software - it is a hardware problem due to your cables.
If you connect the stereo output of the pulsar to your amplifier, take care that there is only at one of the cables the shield connected. If both are connected, you get a ground loop and hum.
Have a look at http://www.rane.com/library.html#rnotes, esp. at http://www.rane.com/note110.html and http://www.rane.com/note151.html, there are very good explanations of this problem.
Bye
Christian
