Have someone an Concrete answer to this issue?
I have upgraded my semipro/homestudio studio With SFP 3.1 and are wery happy for this platform.
To make use of Cubase Sx and Avid Dv Express i must use Win 2000, this is ok for me..
But there is some critical and very! important variables that i can detect and view differently in
Win SFP & ME/98 contra SFP & Win 2000.
I`ve been installing and configured and backuped 98, ME, 2000 and XP All with my complete setup including SFP 3.1 Cubase SX 1.02, Samplitude, Reason 2, DirectX Plugins, Vst Instruments, Network Etc.
And it all seem to work nice but this : In 2000/XP In Controlpanel, System, Hardware, Decvice manager, Sound, Video and Gamecontrollers, Creamware Dsp-Board, Settings and finaly : Preferred Bith Depth!!!16 bit Only!
This option is not in 98/ME so there the software calls the 24 bit devices, and sync to them correct
In 2000 the Cubase MME test only sync to 16 bits!
Under 2000 Cubase and Samplitude are playing trough the 24 bit Devices but in Samplitude when i playback 32 bit internal files In Samplitude the Bit indicator shows only 16 bit playback!!!
Under XP i have to set the "Internal Float down to 16bit" to even playback so i stopped there with XP.
I have screenshots of the concrete settings dialogs in, Windows, Cubase mme tests and scope projects. I`l be happy to send anyone who wants, to get a quick look at he issue!!
In the LUNA 3.01 Notes i read that this is a problem in 2000/XP - Important notes
- The following options are not yet fully functional under Windows 2000:
- 24bit/32bit wave
- AC3
I cannot see the bit problem mentioned in SFP 3.1 Important notes!

I have recorded both 16/32 bith in Samplitude and its different size on them and the
Mediaplayer wont playback the 32 bith stream
So the programs gives info to the
file that its not a 16 bit, but still i think its only 16 as Creamware says : it is up to the software/program to call the drivers/devices! So in Win 2000 Cubase Sx MME Test! : 16 bits sync.
I got an answer from a forum that it was only the Wave Devices that still not yet was 24 bith compatible but still with Asio 16 bit sync!
In all the setups in this MME Advanced Dialog in "Soundcard Options", Use 16 bit only is Disabled!
When i in Win2000 (Required by Avid Express, and preferreable for SX) i open Avid and it does not recognise a soundcard, and even if i change the audio settings in Avid or SFP it doesnt matter. (All availabe source/dest Devices in SFP Project loaded )
So i can make the music for the Videoclips but not together with them!
I have now spent so much time rocking around the clock to solve this very important issue, and have sent the Problem Situation in different forums & Creamware Support ( Thanks to Paul for quick Response) without luck, that this is my last effort to hope for a reliable and Verified feedback that can make me create Music
again!
The alternative if SFP 2000 has problems in this matter, is over the river and back again to use one soundcard x : Echo for 2000, SFP, Cubase SX And Avid DV Express, and my Luna/SFP platform for higher performance music creations!
Maybe one computer for Video and One for audio but still!
To loose STS 3000, Cubase SX and Creamware in general in my Audio/Visual procuction situation, would prosess not just more work and platforms in this Fusiontime, but also my wishable upgrade to Pulsar/Scope until the matter is fixed!

Under an NT-based OS (Win2000/WinXP), a different driver model called "WDM-ks" must be implemented, which Creamware has. 24bit does work in programs that support 24bit wave drivers, but you often times need a new version of the software (new versions of eg: Cubase/soundforge, etc) that support 24bit WDM drivers...
I use ASIO drivers with 3ms latency @44.1khz and record/playback all audio with these so it works perfectly in 24bit here, but Ingo@Creamware has mentioned several times that the WDM wave driver is working well in 24bits under these NT-OSs. I know 32bit-float ASIO drivers work w/ Logic...
