Maybe the cheese at the end it a bit too ripe ?

Anyway wrote it over the last weekend - it is my post-armageddon tune so maybe that excuses it !

Uses bassoon run through resonator and Masterverb.

Drums are all (except the kick) from my Canon EOS camera. Also FM4 and a bass SF on the STS 3000.

Still fresh in my mind so please please comments suggestions etc. Also mix ideas more than welcome as this is just a mixdown . . .

Cheers,

Not so sure about this one?
Great track man, great 'sculpture', with totall controll about the idea.

May be, just my opinion, you could shorten the midpeace a bit in a smart way.
Than the small open 'break' could dramaticly win impact.

The other upload Phototrope is also nice, but the little ironic wink I think to hear creates some distance.
No distance is one little degree better to me if quality meets

Cheers Hubrid.

Yeah I agree, I have been listening to this track a bit since I posted it, and it could definitely do with a little bit of chopping in the middle. Its funny that even knowing that, it is really really hard to take out stuff that you've put in . . . I suppose that's the difference between an acceptable final mix and a really good one. I will get my scissor hat on this evening !

And yes, this has grown on me a lot over the last few days. It is a lot 'clearer' than phototrope somehow. For a start only 3 instruments !

It’s bizarre, but I feel like travelling into the veins through blood… It’s like being inside oneself at an organic level. I followed it and there is like sort of finding your way or something like that through it. The use of so much chorus is usually unpleasant, but hear it’s great. I really welcome the distance, the spaciousness you gave to your air instrument. Fantastic sound for 96 kbps! What encoder are you using to achieve this?

The rhythm reminds me the Hindu table. At 4:06 there is a nice resurgence of the idea but would have liked harmonic change as well. Sorry, I’m always wanting the same thing over and over again, more harmony and melodies. I say so to almost everybody… I like your song, for me it’s an introspection into oneself.

I was EXTREMELY impressed by the drum/camera clicks.... and you mentioned the "cheese" at the end.... yup, that was straight from Planet Stilton... but it works with the tune... I liked the first one better, but love the drum sounds in this.

Nestor - I actually used a Z tapper followed by resonator & masterverb. While I used the z tapper a bit like a chorus, maybe it gave it a bit more definition and openess ?

Fdumptch - I put the drum sounds through a really quick little delay, but quite quiet, and then had a longer delay controllable so I could turn in on when wanted. I think this gave it quite a sparkly feel. Put all this through a reverb too to add a bit more space and depth.

Thanks to both of you for such positive comments, you make me happy

p.s. 96kbps eh ? Damn ! Oh well if it sounds alright, then I suppose that is what matters. I used Real One Player, but thought it would automatically do it in 126, and hadn't even listened to it before I posted it (I have CD).
