This is really starting to do my head in.
Ive gone back to windows 98se because under XP everything is so unresponsive.
However, whenever I load projects, it just hangs after loading the various components. The routing window doesnt get populated and I cant operate anything. Oddly I can move the various objects around but i cant click on anything. I have to ctnl-alt-delete and kill the program.
Ive just reinstalled Win98se from scratch, installed my midi interface and then installed SFP 3.1. When I first loaded an old project, it loaded ok - once it had gone through the process of asking for activatino keys for my 3rd party synths. Then, I saved the project to a different name. Closed SFP. Restarted it and it froze! Now I cant load either of them.
I zipped up the SFP directory straight after installing it and so I tried overwriting the install incase something got corrupted. That didnt do any good.
Ive tried making certain files like dsp.idx read only to prevent them getting corrupt but this hasnt had any effect either.
The only think I can guess is that there is some conflict with my midiman midi interface. Im using a midisport 4x4 and oxygen 8. Both are on the same USB connection which is on a different IRQ to my scope cards. The other USB port is disabled.
Does anyone else get this freezing during loading of projects?
Im really starting to worry about the fact I spend more time reinstalling it than actually making music.
I have now tried disabling the oxygen8 and midisport and both midi cables and it hasnt helped.
One of my boards is on IRQ 9 and the other two are on IRQ 5 which is how it was when they were working ok before.

SFP Freezes/hanges loading projects (Im pulling my hair out)
hmmmm
I seem to have solved this. touch wood.
Basically I had wavs loaded from a CD into my STS5000. When I first try to load the project it told me it couldnt find them and asked If I wanted to search for them. I had simply pressed "no". As a result, on future attempts to load the project it would just freeze.
Now that I have inserted the CD, they load fine.
So.. I guess I better make sure I copy my wavs to harddisk.
