Im trying to setup my midi cabling/config correctly and am a bit stumped. Is there a way in logic to specify on a per track basis, an input to record from.

I have my environment setup with various instruments and each is assigned to a different MIDI Out.
I cannot find a way to setup MIDI Ins for the instruments and then assign them to tracks.

Basically If you imagine I wanted to record 2 people playing 2 different keyboards where the midi outputs of each keyboard were connected to different MIDI Ins and you wanted them to be recorded to separate tracks. In fact, you may want each keyboard to be split so that the lower half of the keyboard records bass to a track set to one channel and top half records another instrument to a separate track.
This would essentially be simultaneous 4 track midi recording.

Any ideas how best to set this up.

I've tried to cable the individual Midi its through channel splitter in the Clicks & Ports environment layer to the Recording & thru but this doesnt do enough, I need a way to specify which port goes to which track.

in the mixer choose the desired audio input.

if you want to record notes...well I dunno if that´s possible with 2 Keyboards at the same time without a patchbay, but the environent can be used to determine which midi input goes to which midi channel.
