I want to learn dsp coding not just for sound but for science applications too.
I have looked at dspguide.com but can anyone give me tips on how to get goin?
Is their a software package or dsp emulator.
Thanks
What is the best way to learn dsp coding.
If you wan't to code for Creamware stuff you'll have to buy the Scope DP.
My suggestion is that you start vith VST plug ins.
That's what i did (or doing,planning to do,should do)
You can get the SDK from Steinberg and it is free. Included are some tutorials that will get you started.
However you must learn C++ and that aint to easy, i can tell you that.
But it will give you a free platform to try your ideas on.
I'm actually planning on getting me a Korg Oasys, because they have released the SDK for free on that card so it is an inexpensive way to get in to DSP programming.
And the Oasys has some advantages over the CW stuff that interests me.
These suggestions probably won't help you developing CW stuff per se but is an inexpensive way of getting the knowledge on DSP programming.

Ok thanks guys, It looks like I have some options then.
I know the basics of C++, and also have both a mac and pc, so will consider getting oasys card.
I however don't have 3000 euros burning a whole in my back pocket to buy scope dp.
My main reason for learning dsp coding is for a phsics degree, I'd want to use dsp's in my own circuit designs. As I think it is a useful skill to have.
Can anyone recommend any books/sites? (apart from the free one)
