Hey,

What would it take to create a set of STS banks that would be set up exactly like the K2000? Specifically the old K2000 drums---the rock drum patch that's stock I desparately need! I miss my K2000 and would like to continue to use STS and translating would work but it would take a lot of time.

Anybody else out there have a K2000 that they're using with their rig?

Bump. I'll pay someone some money to set up a patch for me. I've become rather desparate.

I believe Awave will do the conversion for you (www.fmjsoft.com).

If someone knows of a program that will convert the old Akai MPC3000 disket files, please let me know.

Cheers,

Hey Guys,

Long time workaround....

Here goes. I used the sequencer to translate the notes and used Cakewalk's note name piano roll bar to assist in the conversion.

The trouble I was having was that Kurzweil's 5 Octave Drum Mapping is totally different than the GM drum mapping of most CD libraries and modules.

In order to take a snare sound that was on a particular note in the Kurzweil page I had to copy 8 tracks of the midi information, isolate each of the instruments and then transpose each of the notes relative to the GM drum map.

The result was an easy to use MIDI file that allowed me to scroll through drum sounds to dial them in a lot faster! It only took me a week on the album. Less time than figureing this one out the hard way.

Lastly, I've bailed on my CW system and I'm using the Roland XV SRX Drums and I've been rather happy with them. They are exceptional and meet my current projects needs rather nicely. I hope everyone here is doing just fine
