Buy VST/32 now and get SX for free!
I haven't heard about this deal. Is this a world-wide, special limited offer from Steinberg? That would be grande!

Sadly we are all also in this damn "image business" which has lost its objectivity a long time ago...
True, I've been VERY happy with what I've got before acquiring a Pulsar II+ card. tripleDAT 3.06+tripleBOARDII was doing a perfect job for me, at least my clients were very satisfied of the sound I produced for them... I'm very coufourtable with triple's environment - very easy on the eyes, albeit somewhat a tired looking interface now, but, very effective nontheless!
But, I suppose, image (having a popular brand named gadgets, e.g. ProTools and the ilk) does sell, sadly...
What happened to the creativity, resourcefulness, and skills of the USER (producer)?! If one can produce killer sounds with a very limited amount of "toys", I believe that THAT defines what truly makes an awesome producer!

Whatever you chose, when combined with 24 bit Creamware SFP under the hood (= great quality & flexibility), you'll be able to achieve one thing.....great sounding music!
True enough, sir! That's why I went to Creamware's DSP hardware engine - the price/quality ratio is probably by far the best deal you can get out there! True, still some minutaes to be dealt with, with regards to some insignificant bugs, but... And, since I've been using tripleDAT since(Creamware's flagship back in the mid 90s), it was a natural step-up for me to upgrade to their DSP platform. I'm truly satisfied with the sound quality these fine DSP Pro-audio engine produces!
The bottom line:
I do get caught up with all the "number specs" game. Logic, VST, triple, Nuendo and whatever, are all fine audio instruments (tools) for making good music! All mentioned DAWs will suffice for any recording needs, each having their advantages and disadvantages...
Heck! I still enjoy using my trusty 11y.o. Dr.T's KCS Level II v3.56 sequencer running on my very stable 25MHz/6MB RAM/100MB SCSI HD Commodore Amiga 3000!!! True, today's standard KCS is old and lackluster on its presentation - but ROCK SOLID, a comprehensive event editor, and it does what I want it to do! That's the point.
Although, it does feel like Christmas opening up and smelling the "newness" of an unopened box! Then, installing (hopefully successful) the new software on your computer, then, starting it, seeing a brand new, unfamiliar colourful screen interface that packs so much power "under the hood" that compliments its superficial presentation. Once running, you test and utilise all the listed features hyped on the box! Titillating, isn't it?!
So.. I'm still obsessing with getting a new DAW....

One of the most important thing in my life is
my girlfriend! Beyond all this, I would much rather be spending time with her, perhaps take a vacation down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and take it to the beach! Now, that's life!
