It took a long time since I used this track to learn some new toys, the Nord Rack 2, which replaced my EMU XL-1, and NI Battery, which replaced ReBirth for drums.
And of course the Sequential/Zarg Pro-One

The Pro-One does the bassline in the 4/4 bit of the song, and the phasing/bubbly sound in the first part. all the rest of the synth sound are from the Nord. Battery is used for (surprise) the drums.
I also used the free Dominion (a sort of transient designer) and Endorphin (mastering compressor) plugins from Sascha Eversmeier (www.digitalfishphones.com)
Everyone should use these as their great (and free!).
Sequencing was done in Cubase 5, and Pulsar did all the mixing (pulsarmixer, another thing I had to learn for this track) and the effects. I also used the new PT Free reverb on a lot of sounds. This is a great device and again it's free!

So...the track itself, it's a driving trance/techno thing like you've come to know of me . It starts out with a breakbeat part and then move on to a heavy 4/4 rythm.
It's mainly intended to work in a club, so I added some nice breakdowns/transitions for that "woohoo hands in the air" feeling (but I tried not to be cheesy!)

Well, a lot a babbling, just listen to the song and tell me what you think!

update: I uploaded a slightly different version. Mostly some fine tuning on the mix, and added a rythmic synth phrase in the finale, coming from the Lightwave synth.

Hey, this is a great track! I really like it. Good sounds, nice mix, good transitions.

Excellent all around. Interesting changes in the drum styles / sounds.

Cheers.

Sounds really nice. I particularly like the bubbly/phasing pro-one . . . god now I want one all to myself !

Have to say though, that I thought the 'bass' sample was just a teeny weeny bit cheesy - not that that is necessarily such a bad thing !

Yes it WAS a bit cheesy, but as you say, not in a bad way. It's effective cheese
