Pulsar and windows netmeeting
Hi ,
I live in Amsterdam and i am a recent pulsar user. Could you help me on this litlle BIG problem. How can i use windows netmeeting with my pulsar soundcard. I can`t send my mic sound via internet/voice chat. I do receive the mic signal but it sounds like strange deep bass noise or interference.
I connected the analog source out module(where my mic is plugged) to the
micromixer(in1) and the micromixer out (left and right) to the
wave dest module .Then i plug my wavesource out module (left and right) to
my Pulsar Analog Dest wich is connected to my hi-fi amps. What´s missing?
I feel the solution is close but i can ´t find it.
Do you have any idea of what should i do?
Appreciate your support
Regards

He's not creating any loop. What soft do you use? I've had a similar experience with ICQ-Phone trying the PC to PC call, the problem for me was in the OS: Windows ME Audio & Multimedia doesn't work in some apps like that with Pulsar wave drivers.
In detail the standard windows mixer is disabled by Pulsar and for ICQ Phone it represents a problem (I don't know what else is disabled or malfunctioning in win me multimedia). I've tried with Win XP and it works perfectly...

First of all thanks for your prompt replies.
My operative system is Windows Me and in fact the standard windows mixer is disabled in my computer.Do you think that is the problem?
If i install the xp os and keep the same connections in my pulsar backgr project will everthing work.
To install xp i have to format my hard disk am i right?or there aar other way?
Thanks

Well, nobody seems to have at least try what i wrote, so i repeat, i use WinME, and Netmeeting without any problems....
So, i'll explain the loop :
If you connect wav dest to your mixer, and the speaker also... Your correspondant is talking, and going back to him thru the mixer.
That why i say, plug your mic source to the wav dest directly, and wav source in mixer, and mixer out to speaker.

Yes i tried what you said but it didn´t work
I still receive the "high-pitched chopped up sound" like ernest@303.nu said. I guess my problem is similar.
In you computer do you have the standart windows mixer disabled?
Do i need a mic pre-amp in my bkgr project?
I still not knowing what the best thing to do...

That sound is the mickey mouse voice I talked about earlier. Does your friend hear you as an earthquake? There's some sample rate problems. When I tried it, I had all sorts of different problems. If you can, work w a standard pci audio card for Netmeeting etc... avoid Pulsar for it.On 2002-04-13 18:06, werge9 wrote:

marcus: the routing he made wasn't creating a loop, the difference with the yours is only that he uses the mixer to change the level of the microphone in input, instead of using it for the output of Pulsar (he hasn't connect the mixer to the analog out).
I think that samplerate problem could depend also by DirectX (Direct Play)or Pulsar version.
What DX u use? (I'm using 8.1 on ME and XP)

Oh man i´m really confuse
I tried almost everthing and nothing works
I upgrade to Directx 8.1 and now i can´t even run my sound hardware test wizard - it says that i´m not able to use voice chat and i must contact my vendor
So is there anybody who knows what´s happen?
I have pulsar 3 , my device manager is set to play all sample rates. And i my backgr pro is set as i said above.
Appreciate your support

got your private E-mail but will reply here....
I didn't do anything to fix the problem! It's not enough of a problem for me to consider upgrading my OS or spending additional time trying to fix it. The rest of my Creamware-setup kind of works as it should and I'd rather keep it that way instead of possible new problems resulting from an OS upgrade. I now use netmeeting on another PC through another soundcard and it works fine!
Maybe there are other netmeeting-capable software clones, you might consider trying them?

Yes, a non-CW card did the job for me. But now that I have 3 CW cards and 2 LAN cards, there's not much of IRQ's left. If you have plenty of free slots/IRQ's, just go for a non-CW audio card. Also very handy instead of your background project, and makes boot times a little faster (cos you won't need no background project no more).
Btw, Dx8.1 audio test runs fine here on CW cards. I'm on XP pro.
