Hi,

I'm little confused with this song (though it isn't finished yet)...

I know it's mixed quite bad: The vocal has way too much reverb on it, and it sounds like every source comes from defferend places...

But what do you think of the style, and the background stuff going on...tooo strange?

And what about the refrain... is it too much with the robot octave effect?

Your doubts are totally unnecessory!
All choises are musical and coherent choices, i.c. yours, and good ones.
F.I., you kept the panning of the ridm track in a constant pattern.
Mutch more adequad than a free going pan, specially with a non sinced LFO.
The only thing a go with you is the reverb thing.
I hadn't red your own comment before listening, but to me the reverb specially the tail in the break is a bit cheap, needs a trick, something like a slow pitch fall (mod dly), or a fast rithmic volume switching coming up.
Plus, there is no good ending

It's not realy my style (I like
A E
D C ! )
N
but that doesn't make any difference to my words.

So no doubts anymore

hi Noah,

nice track with good ideas.
The vocal reverb may be reduced or modified, but I don't find it annoying. Imho some interference with background delays leads to a kind of 'overperception' of that reverb.
Unfortunately the robot octave drowns a bit in the mix, but I think it's worth to emphasize it.
Generally I'd say that your (rough) mix suffers only from using that single source Mod2 (which I like very much btw), otherwise it's not that far from final.
The breathy delays and vocal effects are great, but maybe drums and bass and some brass from outside would add more transparency.
Anyway, it's your idea what counts, and you can remix it as you like. Thumbs up.

cheers, Tom

ot: is Cream paying you royalties for using your name ?

Hey boys & girls,

After reading your posts, I feel like getting into this song again (has beeing lying dead for about a 1 year to 1½). Man, I'm inspired...

But anyhow, I like the beat and the rushy feeling & "raw" sound of the background in this song.

The much talked about "reverb" is actually cubase's MEGA lousy wunderverb3 (some how my girlfriend allways choose this when tracking). I kept it becourse of the strange sound it has in the chop at the end of first refrain. But i'll definitely throw it out. I was just envolved too much in the background sounds to bother about it.

Basicly this song was just done to have fun with MOD2, and see how far I could get ONLY using this source. But I like it, so I'll will try to make a whole song out of it.

You come with many good suggestions, that I will use in my further playing around. Thanks go to all of you.

I'll post a new mix when i'm done.

 maybe that's the reason why it's so catchy and easy sounding

Noah, from time to time the tune reappears on my mind - I think that's a good sign. Keep the mood of the song, may be even that funny reverb, just set it a bit more separated.

cheers, Tom
