Well, anyway, except this MSN thingy, it sound ok, but i find that it has a lot of mid! This hihat is alot too up front... Put it back a bit using comp & PEQ4, it eat up totaly the rest of the song, to the point that the bass line is inaudible, an that's too bad. I don't know how you've done the mix, but there's also alot of isssss, almost agressive to the ear.

Anyway, don't give up!

Absolutely right Marcus, just following Ken's idea to post without waiting until the song is finished. Dunno how to remove iss from the lead vocal though any suggestions?

Run your Wav file with the vocal line through CoolEdit or something such. It works for me
Are we listening?..

critisisms always suggest that one knows what the other was attempting.with that knowledge, one can give advice or critique.one can judge how well that purpose was realized.anything else is just another opinion, interesting, maybe, but not really helpful in achieving that purpose. just continue your work. it's cool.............

Quite nice song and voices. But the mix is really bad. If the mix was done I think it'll swing nicely. Too much middle, strident hats, very skinny bass line. I would like very, very much some percussion hits behind it as the song rises, and diffidently, a good B3 with a little distortion would be extremely suitable to the texture of the song. I think it's a nice song in general, despite the fact I don't like this stile of music myself.

Legros, I think you're right - a lot of work, and I think, well worth! Your song reminds me of the early 'Violent Femmes', and I listened a lot to it (till I can sing along...).
Since that word of Frank Zappa ('If you go to a Rolling Stones concert, you get a blow-job, if you come to one of mine, you won't!') I watch this when listening to male singers
I must say I love your crazy, expressional singing a lot! Humorous and a very nice voice too! (But I can imagine some machos that are into hard stuff reacting reluctantly...)
Hopefully you will find the space and time to work some more on it (although it's so fresh and good like it is). I would replace the (clean) guitar with an old, special sounding dreadnought, the bass too though it's quite OK. The song is written and sung masterly, the instruments should be played too.
Thanks! Image
