Hi I trying to setup logic for the first time. I have it working with pulsar but when I open logic I get a midi 2 error, I read some topic and set in win.ini to mid=1 and still error. The major problem is when I activate a vsti logic crashes...

Do you have Platinum 5 ?
Anything before that doesn't work in XP !

I have Logic Platinum 4.8.1(w/dongle) working very well in WinXP Pro. If you have 2 software midi ports defined in your driver settings, then make sure you have the two corresponding "Sequencer Midi Source" modules in your project - if you only have one, but have 2 defined you will most likely see a message similiar to this - either adjust the number of midi ports in the driver settings (winkey+pause, hardware device manager i believe), load 2 devices in your Pulsar project before loading Logic, or click "disable" when Logic complains on startup.

But yes I am sure Logic 5 is probably better on WinXP as kimgr says.

We have very different oppions on what "working very well" means !!!
When benchmarking Logic 4.8.1 on the same PC in Win98 & XP, you get anyware from 20-40% DECREASE in performance under XP.
(On a correctly installed and tweaked system offcoarse).
