I'd comp the drums more. And maybe let it go through some subharmonic adder, and then a room reverb. That usually does the trick. Depends if you want the bass on the bottom or the kick at the bottom. And then, to make that stand out, the mid highs would have to go down a bit. Also, the snares may need some more compression, or cut the release a bit. They seem a bit too long for a tune at this tempo.

But it's really hard to comment, the tune's sounds almost finished.

heh - didj's are great! two of my friends have them and we get great tribal sessions on with about 5 drums and the didjs - yeah!

at any rate - yer track - I mostly agree wth the comments given. I like it overall, but problems are in the mix -
  • the snare is a bit weak, with too long of a decay. using a sample with a shorter decay and more bite would get me on my feet a bit more . . . SPL's transient designer is a great thing for d 'n b [and about everything else percussive too!].
  • the basslines need more presence ni the mix. I always have trouble mixing kick drum and bassline to have room with eachother.

good luck on the final mix! lemme know when it is done. and look for a crazy d 'n b track from me over the weekend
