Quite a few years ago I bought a second hand Pulsar II card from a member of this forum as a spare but which I also use in my workbench PC. At the time I purchased it the seller told me it was a Pulsar II with Classic type cable whip. So when it arrived I installed it in my workbench PC and since then I have just used the RCA Phono type analog outputs on the cable whip and for years it has just been feeding some small powered speakers and works fine in that respect.
However I now have a need to use the digital input & output but I'm having connection & sync issues over the SPDIF I/O. Investigating further, I have only now discovered this so-called Classic plate on the Pulsar II card is in fact a Plus plate. This means all those years ago the seller sent me the wrong combination of Plus plate and Classic cable whip, although I am sure he didn't realise this either.
So I either need to swap this Classic cable whip with someone who has a spare Plus cable whip, or swap this Plus plate with someone who has a spare Classic or Z-Link plate.
Or I need to buy a Plus cable whip, or a Classic or Z-Link plate.
I’ve attached some photos showing my plate and cable whip.
