I have a Abit VP6 and it does not have the feature to turn off plug and play...this is putting my pulsar 2 on irq 17...yes 17 and I cannot change this.....I m going to buy a different motherboard...What are some motherboards out there that have not caused any conflicts with the pulsar 2.

Thanks

Well, does it work? I use ACPI succesfully on XP Pro, Pulsars are on 16-17, no problemo.

I used ACPI too, the only problem is Copyprotectionviolation that I solved by making cset.ini write only (thanks for the tip PT), if you do this remember to deselect the readonly attribute if you make ANY changes inside the Pulsar settings menu. I've since switched to Stanard PC install and get identical PCI performance and the same performance in general, only I don't need the cset.ini workaround. On a dual with Creamware, use only WinXP/ACPI (if you have a modern board which supports ACPI well, a buggy ACPI implementation makes everything less smooth)

Another FAQ... I think this one is because you have PnP "ON" in the BIOS. Disable that.

I don't know what kind of CPU/chipset/RAM configuration the VP6 is, or what you're looking for, but I just built a system for Pulsar, and it works beautifully:
Gigabyte GA-8IRX mobo
w/Intel 845 chipset
Intel Northwood 2.0ghz CPU
1gb PC2400 CAS2 DDR RAM
Regards,
Mark

it's pretty well documented. there are only two choices to make.
#1 intel.
#2 amd 760
intel is the best choice,clearly.
