I recently upgraded to Cubase 5: now every midi recording I make gets doubled notes as result. I mean, when I play live in my keyboard through Pulsar everything is fine, but when I play back from Cubase through Sequencer Midi module I have doubled notes which make everything sound different from what I played. Obviously in Cubase (Score and Key editor) I see doubled notes and if I select the whole part and hit "Delete Doubles" nothing happens. The only way I'm able to delete doubles is to select note by note and hit Canc every time (not a great way...): if I do this, I hear what I've played.
What's happening? What am I missing?
Please, HELP!!!

Cubase users, please HELP!!! (by Filippo)
Subject: My midi connections
First of all, thanks for your reply.
Here is the project:
Pulsar midi S-Seq. Midi Dest (the only midi connection to Seq. Midi dest).
Pulsar midi source feeds three sample players connected also to the Seq. Midi source via the Midi Merger module.
midi thru' in Cubase enabled.
I really hope I made a stupid error...
Thanks again,
F.

Subject: RE: Midi doubling. Again...
((
I've tried to disable Midi thru' in Cubase, but it doesn't work (doubled again...). I'll try working without the Midi Merger module (thru' enabled), but there is no reason why with my project I get doubles, 'cause Cubase receives midi data only once (from the Pulsar Midi source). My problem is not just playback, because Cubase records doubled midi notes (so 1-he receives them, but my Pulsar settings, as you see, doesn't allow him to do so; or 2-he creates them, and that strange "Delete doubles" function makes me suspect something like that can happen).
I think it's a Cubase problem or something like that.
Please, keep trying to help me, 'cause I really don't know what to do!!! For example, is there anyone here who can mail me his def.all song (Pulsar setup) to see if there is something wrong with my Cubase settings?
It would be really appreciated.
Thanks again.

DONT USE THE PULSAR MIDI SOURCE!
Just use the sequencer midi source, route this to your pulsar synths. For changing midi channels, dont change channels on your keyboard, just change channels in cubase using the up and down arrows on your typewriter keyboard.
Thats the only midi sourcedest module you need to have set up on your pulsar screen - just use 'sequencer midi source'. Nothing else.
It works. no probs. It took me 6 months on sites like this farting about till I find out myself.
