Hi there -
Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is E-Mass and I am a aspiring techno producer from Sydney , Australia.

I have just aquired a TB-303 (yep , the original! - WOOT!) - It's had nil modification done to it so far (which is great) but however did come with a Midi Sync 24 Converter box from Philip Rees -

http://www.philrees.co.uk/products/sync-if.htm

I was trying to sync up the 303 to Cubase (on a PC system) - I hooked up the Pulsar Midi Out to the Midi Input of the converter box and also the Midi Thru (from the converter box) back to the Midi In of the Pulsar Card - I've checked that Cubase is set to internal Clock - But for the life of me I can't get the Sync Converter "Beat" light to blink and accept time code via the midi cable - I found something in Pulsar called a MTCMidi device but I'm not sure if thats the problem or if it's a VST issue....I really want to get this 303 syncing (i.e BPM and Start stop msg's) to my Cubase Sequences.

Sorry to throw in a question with my "Hello" message hehe but I need help !

Thanks Pulsar Guru's!

Hope to speak to you all soon and get to know you all in due time

Kind Regards,
E-Mmass

You have checked the MIDI Clock out option for the desired out-port in VST´s synchronisation menue?

I had a look in the Options > Syncronization : I have it set to the following :

Timcode Base : Internal
From Input : Creamware Midi In 1
Output: Creamware Midi Out 1
Frame Rate: 25fps (What does this setting do ?)
Tempo Base : Internal
From Input : Creamware Midi In 1

Sync Out
Midi Time Code : On
Midi Clock: On

What is this MROS stuff?

MIDI clock alone should suffice.

The above settings in the synchronisation dialogue deal with SMPTE, I have them set as follows:

SMPTE-sync: Internal
From: ---
Output: inactive (grey letters)
Framerate: 25fps (=frames per second)
Tempo-Sync: Internal
From: ---

The two settings below are:
MIDI-Timecode: Off
MIDI-Clock: On (I selected the desired out-ports there)

The MROS and systemresolution parameters in the right bottom corner I set to 192 PPQ (ususally enough, e.g. the MPC-2000 uses 96...)
preroll set to 50

The SMPTE-stuff is for video-syncing, so you probably won´t ever need it. Timecode is the usual syncing for tapemachines, so you won´t need it here either.
If your sync-interface won´t work, check it with some hardware sequencer. And AFAIK, the sync-port (which looks like MIDI), needs a three-wire cable, whereas MIDI only needs one pin (the middle) connected.
