Hi! I want to transfer my sampler settings from a program to another in my STS3000, so I don't have to set all the filters, lfos, etc. for every program I use.
Anyone know a way other than copying the original program and dragging each sample of the other program into the first?
Is that clear?
Thanks for helping...
Transfer settings between STS programs... ?
Yes... I already do that, it works fine, but let's say I have 10 violin programs and I tweak all the settings of one of those programs to make it sound good. This may take an hour to adjust all the filters, assing my LFOs, envelopes, etc. on this one program. Now, I want to export the same settings on the 9 other violin prog (and other string instruments as well) so that I can set one and have 50 other instruments working with the same settings. And I don't have to do it all over each time...
Cause if good samples is the basis, sampler settings is what makes them sound organic and colorful, not flat and artificial... I'll start a new thread on that in «tips and tricks»...

I'm only now just digging into the STS5000, so I may be off a bit, but here's an idea...
My STS5000 manual says if you drag a programme into a slot which already holds an existing program, most sampler settings of the original programme will be retained. (cntrl w/ drag/drop can override this)
This suggests that you could copy your fully tweaked programme into a new slot first, then drop in the new programme.
However, I am not sure EXACTLY what is retained and what is written over. As usual, CW manual is good on basics, lacking in detailed specifics.
Experimentation is probably the solution, to verify whether this trick will retain the filter and mod settings you want, but with new samples and key groups.
