Hello !
I use a PIII 600Mhz, Pulsar 2, STS 3000, Logic 4.6 and 192MB RAM and my old motherboard has a via - chipset !
Because of PCI Bus Overflow I need a new one. I want to use an external U2W Harddisk and/or the new UDMA 100 in the future.
Which board is the best ????
chipset ???
SCSI Onboard ???
or better IDE + RAID ???
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!
I don´t know where to start !!

PCI Bus Overflow! new Motherboard
Subject: PC board
Hi!
According to some webpages I´ve visited lately, the ASUS CUSL2-C 133Mhz board is a good one.
RAID is an expensive and NOISY way to assure your contingency. If you have two IDE harddisks (one for data, one for audio - UDMA perferrable), use both in the machine and SCSI is not needed... SCSI has higher RPM, thus noisier.
About 7200RPM for your IDE is sufficient.
If you have the money, look for a top of the line PC, especially created for studio purposes e.g. the Carillon (website: http.//www.carillondirect.com)
Hope this will help you out...
