Hi,
Locate your old mail folder. copy it to a new partition, ie. "d:mail" Open Outlook Express -> Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder -> Browse to your mail folder. (Answer the question so you keep your old files.)
Here you can also view what logs (http/mail/news/...) are active. These logs are hidden .txt's. If you choose to backup-and-restore instead of aiming OE at your custom folder, make could 'Show Hidden Devices' to copy them logs too.
I've had custom folder since I'm using Outlook Express, I never have to worry 'bout my mails after a format c: Also 'My Documents' is on that partititon.
