Does anybody know how can I set up together a Luna3 and a pulsar XTC?
I installed luna3 drivers, then the software -everything OK under w98+Logic 4.8- and then the XTC drivers and soft.
As soon as I install XTC, I get a lot of prompts saying almost every error form the support section from the manual -no dsp's, driver version not OK, not enough modules, etc.
I've tried every combination installing one before the other, enabling and disabling them in the device manager, using another drivers, using one or other startup program... everything, and it still refuses to work: doesn't find the HW, doesn't find the drivers or asks me for I don't know what serial number when I try to insert a XTC fx in the buses, telling me to "select the appropiate hardware" after introducing every single serial number I have in both manuals. Do, by chance, both cards be linked with any kind of cable or the like, something like the syncplate?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm going nuts. Thanks.
How do I setup a Luna3.01+pulsar XTC3.02?
You need to connect the 2 cards with a S-TDM cable, available from your dealer or Creamware.
Then install the newest driver.
(I think both Luna 3.01 and XTC 3.02 uses 1.50 driver, but I'm not sure).
I think you also need to remove a plug from the XTC board. Isn't that in the manual ?
Anyway, I would not recomment using XTC software. Better to install it first and just use the devices in Luna.
Kim.

Thanks for the tip. I've already ordered the cable, so I won't know how well it will perform 'til 3-4 days.
Anyways, some funny things happen:
-I launch Luna and, in the DSP load window, appear 9, not 3, DSPs (XTC+Luna). When I launch Logic 4.8, it asks me for a lot of serial numbers - none of them seem to be any from the manuals- and hangs.
-I launch Logic with The ASIO drivers from the Gina24 without starting Luna previously. Both Luna&XTC effects appear in the effects inserts. Everything goes fine -as far as I don't use cw stuff at all. When I try to insert any fx it prompts the same window asking from three or four s/n's -but this time giving me a code and recognizing Luna- and hangs as I close the window because I'm still waiting for creamware activation keys.
It seems that I'll have to be back soon to this forum... I just wanted to make music... sigh

Well you'll get all sorts of problems the way you have it installed - without an STDM cable. I wouldn't even expect it to work at all, so that's pretty good! (Sort of like driving a car without a fan belt hehe)
Once you get the cable, you will see 9DSPs (with the added benefit of the possibility of actually USING them). You will want to reinstall Luna V3.01 (or 2.5, if that's the version you're using) over the top of your current install, to repair any damages you've done. Have your serial numbers handy (first page of your manuals, also "Creamware My Page Serials" section when you sign in at http://www.creamware.com if you've registered there).

The stdm cable arrived yesterday.
I plugged the cable and uninstalled the cards.
Luna instalation went OK, everything working.
Then installed the XTC. I edited cset.ini files from both apps and then started XTC. It gave a driver error I solved by replacing the sim.dll file from the XTC with the one from the Luna.
I start Logic with ASIO scope drivers, XTC running in the background. Inserted three masterverbs in three busses routed to outputs 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 respectively, and the only thing I hear is an awfull stutter, exactly the same I got when I had only the XTC.
So I try to run with Gina 24 ASIO.
As Logic starts, this message prompts "Luna can't be run in XTC accelerator mode". Then, playing the same file, I only hear some of the audio tracks, and none of the audio instrument(EXS24) tracks.
If I start Logic with Luna in the background, a window prompts asking me to register I don't know what hardware, because it does not specify any. Besides, I sent to cw that string that appears in the prompt of the STS3000 4 days ago, and I still haven't received any "activation key", as they call it. I'm referring to this thing
<font size=1>###BEGIN_OF_TRANSFERSTRING###
51630X2076KX
V01AENA-NNTN3DC-JEHCAJP-NPBJN4Q-N7
###END_OF_TRANSFERSTRING#</font>
which, by the way, I don't know very well what does mean
Any more tips about how to set up XTC & Luna with Logic 4.8?
Thanks to everyone

Don't know how it is with Logic, but it took me a while to setup PowerSampler (Luna 3.1 version) + Pulsar XTC (3.2 version) with Cubase too. First of all, the Pulsar XTC cset.ini has to be changed every time one switches between Luna mode and XTC mode (under [asio], XTCMode=0 for Luna mode and XTCMode=1 for XTC mode), which the software does not automatically (you can download a little utility from our homepage that does this change in the cset.ini), else one gets all these registration windows you are talkin about. Next, there's a bug in the XTCProject.pro file: in XTC mode, Cubase always tries to load two Luna/PS Z-Link A Sources instead of 1 Z-Link A Source and 1 Z-Link A Destiny. This results in an error message (module apollo a whatever cannot be load to whatever, or this, or other) in both Luna and PS, which in PS is even followed by a crash of Cubase. This problem could be easily solved by editing the XTCProject.pro. However, the XTC 3.2 software is not able to do this and the Luna 3.1 one is able to, but produces a pro file that cannot be read by the XTC. One cannot get rid of the error message, the crash can be avoided by replacing the PS Z-Link mdl files by the corresponding Luna ones, renamed to PS. One thing that is apparently important when using Logic is to disable the "always start wave devices" item in the IO enabler.
Cheers.

I think this combination should also be smoother with the next SCOPE Fusion OS update.
But yes - when you install the XTC software AFTER Luna, I'm guessing it's going to mess up the DSP.IDX and/or cset.ini. You never mentioned which version of Luna you're running, either - Luna 2.5 with XTC 3.x might have issues, I have never tested that combination. The Sim*.DLL trick might do it for you though... GonZoft has the rest of the story there for you!

Argh...
I'll have to wait a little 'till I can try anything... I've trashed accidentally my computer while plugging and unplugging some cables... a PCI board got disconnected with the computer running. I hope I can be back soon to this forum (although I'd prefer I wouldn't need to). Thanks everybody.
BTW, the articles featured at gonzoft's site are really cool for wannabes like me. Neat page, man!
