Hi there,
I'm having some doubts about an interesting statement a friend of mine made. It's like this I have 2 PC at my disposal but only one is a genuine PIII (800) the otherone is a VIA C3 (1000). My friend commented my setup as I use the pIII as a DAW and the other one as internet and office pc. But the PIII is on a mobo with only 100 Mhz frontside bus while the via is an onboard cpu with 133 Mhz frontside bus. Both are via mobo's. I always thought it was best to keep the intel as DAW but now my friend suggested I tried the VIA because of the higher CPU and frontside bus speeds.
Could anyone comment this a little more, cause I'm not that jumpy on changing my setup since it's running quiet smooth now...
I know this might sound stupid to some of you, but I could use an increase in capability of my DAW since I'm working on some BIG (>64 tracks) projects ... I know VIA mobo's can be tweaked to good performance 'cause I already tweaked one of em to the max I guess. But what bugs me is that the VIA cpu is onboard ... this could mean that the mobo is made for the cpu but it could also mean that it'll crash as soon as snow before the sun ...
Thx in advance for any comments
Greetz!
